Clearing my name...

I just googled myself and came to find a GolfWRX thread from 2008 in which I was the target of much undeserved hate. (Original thread linked)

 

Long story short...the person being attacked in this thread was not me, Jeremy Wrasse.

 

Someone I know (that I will not name) asked to use my account, to which I agreed. Looking back, I should have never allowed this and it makes me sad to know that my name was dragged through the mud, including to my college golf coach (now deceased) Rev. Roger Fleming.

 

The person I am is the opposite of the person that used my account in this situation. I AM a Christian. I AM NOT a racist, bigot, etc. I respect all people and would never conduct myself in the way the person that used my account did.

 

If anyone has questions regarding what really happened here, I can discuss further in dm's.

 

Is there a way that this can make it to a moderator, and a moderator can remove the original thread from the archives of the internet, that would be great.

FWIW if i google your name that thread does not come up on the first 5-6 pages unless i add "WRX" to it. There is an awful lot about fish though! 

 

But whether you are the guy or not, or did the thing or not---i am generally opposed to posting people's names and info online when it comes to personal transactions like that, for reasons such as this. It lives on the internet forever

 

It's a thread from 2008, hopefully if asked the mods can delete the personal info posted in it because i don't see what value it adds to the forum now

 

There is a subforum called "forum help" that you can post this in and the mods always check that. 

 

Or if you want---just "report" this post and ask a mod to have a look at this thread.

Not sure providing your name and drawing attention to a thread that's been dead for almost 15 years does anything but . . . draw attention to your name in a negative context.  Seems pretty obviously counterproductive.  Assuming it's even true you let someone use your account and have only now discovered it, looks like you reaped what you sowed, so to speak. Seems a bit like putting your name and picture out on a forum and complaining the FBI is screwing you over with your latest job in witness protection. Sleeping dogs . . . . .

 

Having said all that, if this is all true, maybe something can be done but you need to contact the site.

It was a family member that used my account. This is certainly real. I don't care about re-airing this because I want my name to be cleared of this. I'm simply looking for help on how this can be rectified. If you don't have a suggestion on how to clear this up, please refrain from posting. Thank you to those that have offered valuable advice.

Well, just thought I'd try to see if this could be dealt with in a decent manner. Put yourself in my shoes. Seeing something like this years later without ever knowing it happened. Being personally attacked and now knowing this false testimony is out there for all to see when it wasn't even me. Go on and continue to bash me, if it makes you feel better. Those that do are no better than the person that took advantage of my identity.

Did you ever return the items you stole form the golf team to Coach Fleming? According to him that was you that stole them and not your "friend" you let use your Wrx account.

Well thanks for informing me of this thread. Been a member since 2013 and it has been while since the last idiot. I've gotten through a good bit of the thread, and it doesn't seem like the "this wasn't me it was someone else", is going to hold up well. You were kicked off your college golf team and stole equipment. Your mom was contacted and you admitted that was your mother.

 

Lastly, this was not a smart decision to bring back up a long dead post. A decision I would expect of none other than Jdawg himself.

Good question. I was told that the team was getting new bags the following year and the equipment was ok to keep. I'm sure if my coach was still alive, he would vouch for my character. Unfortunately he is no longer.

Should have read the original thread closer and being straight on what the 2008 lies were before starting on the 2023 lies. He could have used his real name here and I doubt anyone was going to remember the 2008 case. Probably should have just posted his BST thread.

That's OK if you think this. I know what is true, thus why I'm trying to clear my name. My mother never informed me this happened. I will be asking her today if she remembers ever getting an email regarding this.

On a thread like that, with the amount of information present, if you truly want to clear your name, you're gonna need a little bit more than "someone I know who I will not name". This is a public forum and whether you agree to it or not, you are appealing to the court of public opinion, not a real "innocent until proven guilty" court.

Why not just post under @mclovingolf970 which you were still visiting under up until August 2020?
