Ludvig Åberg - generational player?

Kudos to Aberg for turning down the Saudi's offer twice. Win the Masters in 2024 and the third offer will be at least in the ballpark of $100M.😄

Aberg has a great swing but I will be interested to see how his putting holds up over time.

 

Tiger and Jack dominated by their superior ball striking and distance but most importantly they were clutch putters throughout their career.

LA has quickly become one of my favorite players and this whilst I have done my best to not get too excited over the young man.

 

To me:

 

He comes across as someone much older and wiser.

Loves the game - the tradition(s).

Humble

Smart

Appears that he is first and foremost a competitor while demonstrating respect to everyone.

 

With LA and a few others right behind him the PGAT will be just fine.

 

Another reason for the PGAT to tell liv to pound sand.  They certainly have plenty...

His first major and solo 2nd after Scheffler, who was fantastic. The way Åberg was just smiling and didn’t look nervous for one second. Now we know how he handles the pressure in majors and in the Ryder cup.

• Guaranteed spot in 2025 Masters
• 60 world ranking points is huge.
• $2.1 million paycheck is huge.
• Big exposure to casual golf fans.

This kid is gold. Beautiful natural swing, pretty smart and well adjusted. A young golf genius, indeed.  Good for him and for us fans in general.

His pace of play is aspirational.

As it was mentioned, pretty disappointed in his performance this week at the Masters, it was in fact his worst position result in his career at a major.

His ball striking is machine like, ironic that two apparently toe-hit tee shots cost him (11 and 15). The 2nd on the 11th was the bigger issue but that tee shot did leave him farther back that you would expect. Otherwise he looked by far the most solid other than Scottie, if he can develop a few more shots and tidy things up around the greens he will be a staple in Majors.

The 15th hole killed Aberg for the week. Aberg was +3 on the 15th, while Scheffler was -2 on that hole. Aberg beat Scheffler by 1 shot on the other 17 holes. He will need to figure out a way to be much sharper at the 15th hole in future years.

Doesn’t make a lot of sense as that tee shot should set up perfectly for him, it did seem like he went for a little extra on Sunday. Could be a visual thing where some tee shots just don’t fit your eye.

He did catch a bad break having to finish the first round Friday morning in 50 degree weather. He made double bogey there. I assume the cooler temperature was a factor. Ball doesn’t fly very far in 50 degree weather, so you go in the water. He also bogied there on Saturday after a good drive and good second shot. Messy short game mistakes on Saturday.

The urban central Å as me and Norén use it - oa  in hoard 

 

The AA in Hojgaard is actually an Å. Our southern and western neighbors are simply not as allergic to vocals meeting as we are in written text. The Hojgaard aa is pretty much a shorter urban Å. 
 

just wanted to get that straight
