2024 Bag Is Set Challenge (BISC) Thread!!!

So technically not out for about 3 more weeks when the new irons show up 😳😬. May be a little longer since I have a few work scrambles the last of April and I don’t wanna mess with stuff since I’m grooving pretty good at the moment with my set up now. 
 

But sometime in May I’ll have a new set of Mizuno 245’s with Recoil Proto shafts in the bag to replace my PXG’s.

Out. My son needed a 3w so I gave him mine and replaced it with a Cobra Ltdx.

Still going strong. I haven't changed anything during simulator season (we play twice a week).

 

Off to Bandon on Monday and then Ireland two weeks after I get back. I may even get a round outdoors locally between the two trips given the warm weather.

I am seriously trying to keep the bag stable this season.

 

As the guy who has been known to switch drivers/shafts making the turn, this will be a challenge for me.

I do want to win this year, I've been on an equipment buying binge trying to replace clubs. Granted my starting clubs were easily improved upon, but it has gotten to the point where the hit to my pocketbook isn't really worth the gains I could get. I want to take the money I'd spend on gear, and spend it on some other courses. 

 

And I'm still alive @cardoustie, but if I find a club I really want to try for a great deal, and the funds are there, you never know.

I im still alive, if you don't count my Changes during Simulator season.

 

Irons and wedges have found their place in the bag, but i have dabbled with some of the following:

Driver: Paradym TD is out and awaiting notification that my Qi10LS is ready to pick up.

Fairways: Paradyme TD 3 and 5 wood is out, In comes Stealth Plus and Stealth Plus2 3 woods. You can never have to many 3 woods in the bag!

Utility iron: Out goes Apex UT and in comes Tity U505 with a little Ad Di shaft. 

Putters: Out goes Nike Converge and Scotty CC NP2 and in is the monster Jailbird AI Cruiser. 

 

And there have been about 5 different shafts rotating in and out of the bag during theese weeks.

 

What bothers me the most is when my playing partners ask what is new this time every time we play as a gag, but i have to point to several clubs..

I wish there was like a clinic we could go to for help... maybe like a big golf club store to just look at clubs..maybe try some of them out...Just hold them to get a feeling of how they would play..

I haven't done a first golfing activity this season. Still doing rehab after a hand injury that means golf is at least 4-6 weeks away.

 

I feel like I am cheating though, since I have bought a new driver head to try and cheer myself up. But when a tour issue SIM Max head with damn near perfect specs for me came up on eBay... I just couldn't help myself. 

 

What's the verdict boys?

I think i'm going to make it the full year:

Ping G410+ with GD MT 6s

Haywood DI with HZRDUS Smoke Black Stiff

New Level 5, 7, 9 irons with s300 shafts

Haywood 48º and 56º with s400 black onyx shafts

Scotty Cameron x5.5 currently with a flatcat grip (that may change)

 

does changing the actual bag count? also is there dispensation if god forbid there is damage to equipment?

Changed to graphite iron shafts at the tail end of last year. Bag is SET. 

.... unless of course I happen upon some of those MMT scoring shafts.

I take umbrage with your insinuation that this is not a wholly and completely reputable endeavor that we are all undertaking with the utmost sincerity!

 

If it helps you to take it seriously, by all means do so.  If it helps you to understand the depths of depravity that yourself and others will go to, then have at it from that angle as well.  Much like the game of golf, BISC is here for you to be whatever it needs to be for you.  Give us your tired, your poor, etc......

 

Except for those weirdos who never change out anything in their bag, it's definitely not for them.  But are they really even true WRX'ers?

 

P.S. In truth, it started out as an experiment to see how many WRX'ers could read (not even follow, just READ & COMPREHEND) some simple rules.  Sadly, results were so definitive towards the negative that the committee had to shift the focus of the entire endeavor, so we've ended up with what we've got now.
