2024 Bag Is Set Challenge (BISC) Thread!!!

Haven't started my season yet, though my first round is fast approaching. Starting it off with a bang at Chambers Bay. Season will likely be pretty short with my 2nd child being born in June giving us 2 kids under 2 and an attitude filled pre teen lmao.

 

 

Got the last couple clubs built up, already set them just hadn't built them yet. Gonna start hitting the range this week so I don't make a total a** of myself first round of the year and a tournament at that.

I'm really hoping that my signature is my 2024 bag. I'm tired of switching clubs. But, I am going to a Wilson demo day with their new fitting system this Saturday and the Chicago golf show on Sunday though. If I can make it through those, I should be ok.

Been to my local golf shop (Dave DiRico's Golf) a few times in the last couple of weeks and bought nothing, so I think my bag is set!

I tried (feebly) last year, and ended up replacing 2 fairway woods and my entire iron set.  Not going to bother this year as I know that new wedges are happening at some point and I can't stop looking at new shafts for my utility iron, which was purchased in 2023.  Heck, maybe a new driver, too.  But after all that, we'll be set.

 

I'll be back for 2025 - mark my words!

heck I would even go as low as playing 18 holes with the same set. 
 

my old club had parking spots between the 9th green and 10 tee box. They were blocked out with trees, I would always park there and then keep and extra bag in the trunk. I would swap them when the other guys were in the halfway house. 
 

Don’t worry, it wasn’t a match, only fun rounds.

I just had a very long range session trying out a few different shaft and club options at the top of the bag and I feel confident that I'm set for the foreseeable future.  

 

A few notable changes:

-I added a 3 wood after gaming TM 5 woods dialed down for years.  I actually dialed it UP making it a strong 7 wood instead!

-Decided to stop playing T's all the way through and added some forgiveness with my 5 and 6 irons. 

-LAB Link knocked my GOLO 3 out.  I've been gaming that Scotty for a very long time, but it wasn't even close.  

 

Two realizations: 

-I have to stop wasting hundreds of dollars every year trying to replace my Apex Pro hybrid.  

-I need to find a backup PM grind 60 somewhere because nothing else works out of the bunkers for me.  I use it exclusively in green side bunkers and flop shots.  I don't know how many more seasons it has and have started to re-groove it every spring.

Prediction - I've tried to replace my irons and my driver so many times, but I keep going back to Ping. New wedges may be on the horizon this spring, but if not, I've got a real shot (I'm probably kidding myself)!!

Can I get a ruling?? Turns out 5 of my 11 irons/wedge shafts are bent at the hosel (search "KBS C Taper bent tips" in the equipment forum if you're curious). I'm replacing them with different shafts that are less likely to bend (px 6.5). It's different equipment, but driven by broken gear. I've played 4 rounds so far this year, so I've "started the clock." Thoughts from the group?

Same re Apex 3H. Wanted to add a 4H but couldn’t find a decent used one, so I tried several diff ones, but just couldn’t get along with it. So I decided to add a 7W and cut down the shaft on my 3H so I can fit it into the distance I needed.
