The TSR3 just arrived this week and of course the new driver releases have started. The Ping 10K and AI Smoke have me intrigued cuz I’m a heel banger.

A quick question for the comittee.  It's probably a moot point due to my driver situation, but if I were to get a new set of irons with heads, shafts, and grips all identical to my current set but 1* strong am I out?

(to be honest I'd be ok with it, but I think it violates the spirit of the rules)

Good lord man, that's the most commitment I've ever seen, and never even considered, just to stick to the "rules."  To honor that commitment, I called an emergency meeting with the Committee to discuss your situation and the conclusion was thus: IF you were to break every club in your bag (during the normal course of play of course), you would then be allowed to replace each club within the rules and continue participating in the BISC for 2024.  Barring that, this act of absolute insanity would result in your disqualification, BUT, your legend would live on forever in BISC lore!

 

Also, I'm not sure what the issue is you are trying to solve, but why not just bend your current set 1° strong?

😂 Oh, it doesnt have much to do with the challenge but the situation seemed interesting.  I love my old s55s but they are wearing out and I want to retire them to the backup bag with dignity while they still play well.  Plus some swing work last year finally has me spinning the ball and I would like to bring the flight down a touch.  A second set lets me keep playing these while I ship the "new" ones out to Phoenix for the loft and lie adjustments.  If by some miracle I get a new set of s55s before I change my driver I will consider myself out 😉

Causes for concern

1.) iBlade/ i210 combo set will be new to start the year- I’ve played (and still have) both sets on their own, but came across the combo set and hoping it will be best of both worlds…concerned I just go back to full i210. 
2.) I find a Ventus TR Blue for the 3W 

3.)PING demo day sometime in April at my club for the new Blueprint S…

Prediction

I end up playing the bag until the demo day where I also get them to fit the 3 wood shaft and I cave around my first Masters trip lol. 

Well I’m out…with the cold and rainy weather I found a TR Blue shaft to build out for the 3w. 
 

Putting it in the bag for a pre polar vortex mountain round tomorrow, and with not being able to practice the i210/ iBlade combo set at all I’m just going to game the full i210 set until the conditions are better and can get my ball striking back…have some pride to play for with this group and need to know my distances.

The key to this thing is, apparently, me just not playing golf in 2024. Probably a good thing as I haven’t had a 2024 golf activity yet but already have a new driver shaft, and have been looking at my putter sideways for absolutely no good reason.

I'm gonna do the Paradym AI Smoke demo day in Feb at my club. If it doesn't outperform my TSR2 i won't buy it just for fun. Since i have a few non club related things i want to waste money on already (like a custom LinksLegend bag)

 

But if it does i'll get it. And let me tell you this i won't feel bad about it ---I hate everything this contest stands for , as well as those who participate in it! You are all the worst!

Not only have you found the only real way to win the BISC, but you've also uncovered a phenomenon that I believe is totally unique to WRX'ers.  For whatever reason, when we don't get to play golf, we scratch our itch by buying different clubs for absolutely no good reason!

100% correct on all fronts. Since I “set” my bag in original post, I’ve changed it 1x so far and have serious plans to change it again. Since the 2nd “setting” of the bag in late Dec, I’ve ordered a set of graphite iron shafts, new ferrules, a 4 iron (20’-driving iron) and continue to look at irons….I’ll have new irons at some point, the question is, will they be here and swapped into the shafts before my first golf activity 🤔🤔🤔. It’s 18’ and feels like 8’ at the moment, so at least for now I’m safe 😂😂😂😂😂

I feel the end is close and my continued participation is now in the hands of the British postal service (which could actually keep me going for quite sometime). I have ordered a Ventus Velocore TR Blue for the driver and the new old stock p760 iron heads and F4 110 Recoil shafts are on their way to the club builder. Physically I am still in the competition but mentally checked out.
