Managed to have a go with some demo versions today.

Disappointed with the nickel finish, I still think the gun metal was the best finish Vokey has ever done.

I wanted to try the S grind having seen some of the reviews and details. It’s like someone read the stuff I have posted on here about the older versions. I really liked the old versions of the S but always thought it sat a bit flat and it wasn’t very easy to hit a lower flighted pitch.

The new version is so good, sits much better, shape wise they look great. I found it much easier to hit a low or high shot with it.

Had a go with a T grind, bit sharp for this time of year, but might pick one up in the summer.

Two weeks in and I’m over the moon with performance. I love the shape and consistency, and having re-gapped my wedge matrix with ball and wedge change, it’s clear these are better than the TM wedges I came from, for me. Gaming DG TI X100 onyx shaft in my 50F gap wedge — decided to bias toward my wedges (which are DG TI S400 onyx shafts; rather than my irons which are Axiom 125X). My 54* and 60* share the same all-around grind and bounce. I’m in the PNW and play Bandon 1-2 trips/yr (firm) but also generally soft turf through the NW part of the state spring to summer — I might want/need more bounce if the turf were even softer for more of the golf season. Raw heads, few hundred balls/ea on a sim, waiting for the rainy season to end (30-40* and snowy this morning). Cheers

I think the M grind is the best all around grind there is.  I'm glad to see it back in the 54 again at stores.  That's my exact setup I'm going except I'll bend the 50 to a 49 and 60 to a 59.

Both the M and D grind are very versatile. Just depends on what turf conditions you play in. M for dry days and D for wet days. Those few extra degrees of bounce make a difference.
Me being in the NEast most conditions are wet or soft. I typically roll with the 12D.

Looks like a really nice set up for the wet coast.

Titleist.com is showing an 8 week lead time for a set of raw wedges, in other’s experiences, is that lead time consistent with time frame, or is that a safe number that they usually beat?

I ordered from a dealer 2/16 and was told this week my order is expected to ship first week of April. So the 8 weeks might not be that far off.

I purchased a set of 50, 56, and 60 in raw on 2/17 and have had them delivered since 3/8.

Not sure why people always have to make this comment. Design wise, how much do you expect companies to change a design of a WEDGE that people already like? And for build, they moved CG higher to help lower flight, which I personally noticed and was why I chose them this year. What else would you like them to do?

This. I got my SM10’s last week and I think they feel nicer than my SM8’s did, didn’t have any 9’s so can’t make that comparison. The shape of each wedge is also more consistent, gives a nicer flow through the wedge set. Definitely been some improvements in them.

I just got a set of SM10's a week ago. I can see a big difference from my SM9's, though I am not sure how much of that is getting fit for the 10's  compared to the off the shelf 9's. The 10's seem heavier, a more solid feeling. Making the shot fly further than expected. For sure a different flight path on 3/4 and less shots. Still getting my distances tuned again, but I love the feel. Having the correct bounce for my swing is amazing! That is the biggest difference

Just a personal opinion, but that 48F is my favorite club in all my bags combined.   It's the one club I have that I know with 3 to 5 yards, how far I'm going to hit it every time, and gets just enough spin to do the job without going crazy.   I'm not WRX long hitter, so if I can lay up to 85 to 90 yards over say 40 to 50  yards, where my 58 might come in, I'll do it every time!

I found my SM9 wedges to look and play just about identical to the SM8's they replaced, which was a good thing.

It seems the SM10 will look and play just about identical to SM9, when I finish wearing out the SM9's. That would be a good thing.

I'm not really looking for anything new or supposedly better in a Vokey wedge. Kind of like the Pro V1x. I don't think the 2023 version is a whole lot different from the 2013 one, which is a good thing. Don't screw up something that works. If you can fine-tune little details here or there, fine. But don't go changing just to change.

I like the new nickel finish. Whoever has them in the bag, How are they holding up?

Holding up pretty well but have only played a few rounds on sims. Can definitely see one or two nicks that indicate the satin finish will wear. But I have to say that in person the nickel is the nicest finish I’ve ever seen. Here is a pic compared to my Jet Black SM9 that looks pretty worn now.

Does anyone have real life comparison in length between SM10/9 and MG4?

For example MG4 states 35" but that is on 60* USGA ruler to end of grip which would be ~35.25" measured at 64* (actual lie of the wedge).

SM10 lists 35" but my assumption is that is at the actual lie and without grip, so would be very similar to MG4 actual length.

just trying to wrap my mind around what length to order so that it matches what I'm used to
