How long did it stay in your bag before getting rid of it?

I haven't really sold any clubs, I'm more like @Mikey_HACKilroy and hold onto things more than I should. Closest thing for me would be specialty/niche clubs that I bought for certain things (driving hybrid for wind) where I don't swap it in when I  theoretically should. 

 

I do have a 3 wood that I'm kinda trying to sell, took a few swings with it and it didn't work, but put it on fb marketplace too late in the season and it's just sitting there.

Mizuno 923 Hot Metal irons. Fit at a big box, custom ordered them and were gone within 20 days. 

 

I hated them from the first range session and thought they would eventually get better.  2 rounds and 3 range sessions later, I still hated them. My playing partners had to hear me say 'I hate these irons every single hole.

I paid for a fitting and a custom putter a couple years back - Taylormade Spider split back. It was the first year of that pure roll 2 aluminum insert. I never noticed at the fitting but gaming it for the first time it was a loud CLANG on every putt. Couldn't make it work mentally and it was traded in that afternoon

 

7 Wood was another failed one, pure spin machine for me and didn't have the patience to try another shaft. 10 range balls and 1 shot on course

 

Ping G430 max made it 2 months...

It’s a long list for me, but most recently, a Ping G425 9 wood and 19* hybrid that I each used for 1 round as I’ve been searching for a club to go after my 5 wood. The 9 wood went too high for me and I could not hit the hybrid well at all (probably a shaft issue). I just picked up a Stealth 22* hybrid and the two shots that I hit with it on the course felt very good.

Sadly, I think it applies to a lot more than just one WRX'er!!!

A 60* wedge, bought it the night before, tried it on the course.. sold it to my playing partner at the 5th hole.

 

Ive only played 56* my whole life.

Bought an Original Big Bertha 9 degree with the blue graphite shaft. Round of golf the next day, I discovered that the only thing it was good for was hooking the ball off the planet. Took it back to the store after the round and traded it straight up for a 9 degree with the Memphis 10 shaft ( lost $ I remember). Stayed in the bag a couple of years. Yup. That was a long time ago... I just have a spare closet for my mistakes now.

Callaway Epic SuperHybrid (3H) - played 9 holes with it and refused to take it out of the bag after that.  Returned that evening to store.

It's not just us mere mortals that do this.  I recall many times when a tour rep would bring my player the latest and greatest new club, only for it to be sent back to the van within a few swings.  More than once, the club never hit a ball and was rejected purely on visual.  At least they didn't pay for them.

 

Personally, I've had a bunch of clubs that barely finished a round before being returned or sold.  Too many to list, over the decades.

I had an Adams Boxer hybrid that barely lasted a range session.   It wasn't even a dozen balls to realize the differences were irreconcilable.

Over the years I've bought various TM drivers only to hate them and sell them after 1-2 rounds tops. I'm back to Ping for Drivers and that's where I'll stay.

Where do I begin. 
 

The only set of irons I did this with were P770’s.  Bought them like new on EBay and when I brought them home I realized TM specs are 1/4 inch shorter than my Adam’s CMB’s that I got used to even though I had many TM sets prior. Traded them in the next day. Never hit them. 
 

Wedges. Jaws Full Face, RM22, Edel SMS, Smithworks’ (all looked too big at address), RTX 54 Full face (looked too lofted at address),TM 23 High Toe,  RTX OG (looked too big at address after I got it home). All never hit. I am very picky with the look.  Mizuno, the OG High Toe are really my only likes.  Funny the Arias wedges still fit my eye and are backups.
 

Drivers.  Some Tour Edge Exotic XCG I built to 46 inches.  Lasted 3 drives.  
 

Mizuno 22X Driving Iron 1 shot.   Callaway Steelhead XR Heavenwood off EBay, presented too much loft, traded in within a week, never hit.  
 

There are much more in the 1 to 4 round category.  
 

I have had the same putter for at least 10 years and never bought anything else.

Had an itch for something different and I saw this cheap. Played my first round with it and 3 putted both Par 5s on the front (Both bogeys) then on the Par 5, 15th I got on in 2 to 12 feet. Told my buddy if I 3 putt again, I'm ditching it. I 4 putted for Bogey and I put it in my Buddy's bag, and it's somewhere in his basement.

 

I shot 81 that day. Still chasing that sub-80 round

 

You must have been hitting every green in regulation and/or putting lights out with it on every other hole though!

i dont think ive ever came across irons that felt as bad as they sounded since then lol. Man that sound.. that metallic twack 😖. That sh*t gave me nightmares.

Some time ago, got a fitting at the ping factory for a driver. Persevered for 6 weeks, insanity, should’ve dumped it in a week, long gone to some low value trade in.

Was given a new black Ping Crossover by a rep on hole 1, hit it perfectly 250+ down the middle.  Left it on the tee box as it sounded worse than anything I've ever hit, it may still be there....
