Either Taylor Made or Titleist for me if I had to go for a new bag, but to be honest as their exit is fairly recent I'd say Nike. Their kit works really well for me, and I loved their more innovative approach. Even the OG Blade, which looked a fairly traditional iron, had a tungsten plug inserted near the toe to move the sweetspot to a more central position.

OK they had a few misses (Slingshot irons, Square Drivers), but the hits are proving remarkably difficult to kick out of the bag. I could happily replace the woods with a could of TS's, but all I'd really be gaining is new shiny kit and more shaft options to tinker with.

The Dee Three - Titleist TS4 9.5 deg, EvenFlow White 6.5 65g, A1 Setting

Henrik - Titleist 917 F3 15 deg, Rogue Max 75x, B2 Setting

The Walking Stick - Titleist 818 H2 19 deg, Rogue Max 85x, B2 Setting

The Interloper - TaylorMade P770 3 iron, S400 Tour Issue, +0.5inch +1 deg loft

The Blades - Nike VR Pro 4 - AW, S400 Tour Issue, +0.5 inch

The Sand Iron - TaylorMade MG2 TW-12 Grind, 56 degree, S400 Tour Issue

The Flopper - TaylorMade MG2 TW-11 Grind, 60 Degree, S400 Tour Issue

The Putter - Nike Method 003 from The Oven

Ping irons, to me, are just so much more forgiving than everything else out there. As a newer but fast improving golfer I was blown away by what the i200 did for my game. Tried every iron in the players-with-a-bit-of-forgiveness bracket and nothing came close. The Glide 2.0 wedges also transformed by game from inside of 100 yards. I still use a Titleist driver because it just finds fairways and the H1 816 hybrid is ridiculously easy to hit and shape. Callaway also makes a great product - the Epic 5 wood was the winner for me during testing.

Mizuno

All the OEM's make great stuff these days. Nothing wrong with any of them.

One thing that stands out about Mizuno's..., when a guy shows up with a bag of cavity back forged MP line Mizuno's, you know the guy can play.

Hit em good

Hogan, as the screen name suggests. I like their current iteration’s attempt to be the ‘little clubmaker that could’ and I’m hoping to be able to pull the trigger on some wedges from them. I know they aren’t really the same legendary company from pre-2003, but they are giving it a good fight in a world dominated by the Cally’s and the TM’s. Now if they’d just make a driver line...

Titleist

Why? Classic looks, neutral performance (you get what you hit without a lot of draw bias to hide flaws), a product cycle that doesn't make 6 month old clubs sell for pennies on the dollar, and far fewer design 'duds' than many other OEM's.

Grew up on Ping, gravitated to Titleist as my game improved. Switched to Mizuno for my irons and Bettinardi for the putter when I started consistently playing at a high level and needed elite performance and feel / feedback from my equipment. There's no question brands like Bettinardi and Mizuno know the perfect balance of classic player profile - looks and un-compromised quality in materials - performance.

Ping for me. Grew up using the brand, yes eye 2's, and been loyal ever since. Tried other brands along the way but each company I felt brought to the table something good but not all ie, TM with their woods, Titleist with golf balls, Callaway with their woods and so on. Ping, I have always felt, has stayed more consistent with their designs and technology without going overboard. Great for those days when you are on and likewise when your off.

Other - whatever works (performs on the course) regardless of brand or age

Cobra and Ping for me. I have cobra irons that I have really liked and Ping seems to offer great stuff in all the categories.

I want to like Mizuno as their designs look great but they don't offer as much for us lefties. I think it's for the cost savings of a small market and they seem to be priced pretty high already.

I would say PING because they have something for every level of golfer. Also now they are making excellent woods to go with an always strong iron/wedge/putter lineup.

Cobra for me. They may not always "keep up" with Callaway or Taylormade in terms of performance but their value is absolutely 2nd to none. People really over look them when it comes to irons and wedges.

Only downside is buying new. Value tends to plumet pretty badly as the perceived performance/value is not high still. I bought my F8 brand new and I'm struggling to sell it for $80 (although I'm LH and it's the off season).

It's a tie:

Callaway - Quality clubs at all price points; generally has threesome of irons which fit all spectrums (Rogue Pro, Rogue, Rogue X). Their clubs also seem to "fit my eye" - doesn't take but a couple of rounds to get club(s) zeroed in.

Tour Edge - Innovative niche player - my most persistent FW provider since 2002. Now, I have bought the Exotics CB Pro Tungsten irons (see my bag).

What's In The Bag (As of April 2023, post-MAX change + new putter)

Driver:  Tour Edge EXS 10.5° (base loft); weights neutral   ||  FWs:  Calla Rogue 4W + 7W

Ball: 1. Srixon Q-Star Tour / 2. Calla SuperHot (Orange preferred)  ||  Bag: Sun Mountain Three 5 stand bag

    * MD4 54°/10 S-Grind replaced MD3 54°/12 W-Grind.

Do Mizuno, Srixon, and similar count as "US OEM" brands? For example, I see Mizuno and Srixon as Japanese brands, whereas Callaway, PING, TM, Nike, and others are US brands.

Mizuno/Srixon/Bridgestone I put in as US OEM brands because they officially make and sell in the US market as opposed to Miura and Honma for example which have to be imported.
