Was watching Live From after the Presidents cup and Lerner drops a bomb that Nobilo is CBS bound. I didn't know about Kostis but I heard something on Sirius' PGA Tour channel about McCord not coming back, kinda bummed. Golf channel should sign Wayne "Radar" Riley!

Yes I agree. It'll be nice to hear him on coverage. But I'll hate not seeing him on Live From during the Majors.

Lance Barrow leaving is a good thing for the viewer, but if PGA Tour is charging the three networks 60% more, we haven't seen anything yet as far as advertisements and commercials in the telecasts. They will do even more to make money during during non-commercial time.

i wish golf coverage would find a handful of golf knowledgeable no names to announce golf...save millions in salary, and use the money saved to air fewer commercials and buy new handheld cameras to cover the play. oh, and save money by not building towers. we don't need the top down zoomed view of putts. when if comes to golf coverage, on a list of the top 100 things i want fixed or changed, the announcers are near the bottom of my concerns...now that mccord is gone.

I thought McCord was awesome. Him and Faldo playing off each other I am going to miss.. DL3, gimme a break, hope he surprises me. Nobilo is great and should be able to play off Faldo. I’m just not sure Nobilo has the same off course relationships and personal insights that McCord or Kostis have.

Now if we could get NBC to dump Azinger. It would be great if Duval could replace Azinger.

I used to think Duval would be good but seeing him on some coverage - I have not been impressed. He is way better with the pre and post games.

100 % agree. Love Duval. How anybody can hate McCord and yet tolerate “ straighter than train smoke “ and “ have the ball land like throwing a cat off your lap “ is beyond me.

CBS said McCord and Kostis were “Stale”. Well, it is worse now. Nobilo is as boring as they come, Mr Monotone. He is terrible. I like Davis, but he is not a very good announcer. CBS really screwed this one up by getting rid of McCord and Kostis. Peter has forgotten more about the golf swing than Nobilo will ever know. With McCord, you never knew what he was going to say but it wasn’t boring or Stale.

 

CBS needs to fix this or it is going to be a long season for golf fans watching golf. Come on CBS, get your act together!

I agree. It’s one tournament in, but the new additions are boring. I always liked McCord and Kostis and they already are missed. Notah started out a little rough and he improved, but I just don’t see DL3 as having any excitement and his comments are bland and something that anyone in the gallery could come up with.

i think the new cbs announcers are the least of cbs golf coverage worries. the entire programming has been awful

Frank is great and Kostis said more dumb stuff when looking at those slo mos of the clubs coming into the ball than you would have thought possible.

Thank goodness McCord is gone. His schtick was old 15 years ago. Kostis is meh for me as there are plenty of others that could do the same.

I'm listening to Sirius XM and McCord is co-hosting one of the shows, 'Gravy and the Sleaze', and none other than Jim Nantz calls in. They talk about their first days on the golf broadcasts together, how McCord got in trouble for being asked to call a tape-delayed broadcast 'live' and telegraphing all the shots, having already known the outcome. Nantz had high praise for McCord, giving him credit for the evolution of the 16th hole at the Waste Management and his genius for areas other than golf. And they agreed to have dinner sometime this week to boot.
