I caddie out on the KFT, and given its a home event for him I'll be interested to see how big the crowds get for him and the rest of the tournament.

Romo with another exemption into this week's KF stop in Missouri. +3 round and then W/D. Not sure that spot couldn't have been better used with no fans to draw in or TV viewers.

yes, agreed. now that is a total D move. It would be one thing if he was healthy and just sucked. It would be another thing if he wasn't injured and this cropped up out of nowhere. but, given he had to withdraw from the Tahoe thing and went INTO this knowing he was sketchy to play, it's just BS. He knows how this works, some 21yo kid trying to make it was denied so injured Romo could try to tough it out, which he obviously wasn't going to be able to be close to doing this week. Really ruins my opinion of the guy.

Seeing as how a lot of the top players on the Korn Ferry are either not going to play in the Springfield tournament or they got a spot in the 3M on the PGA Tour cuz a bunch of the PGA Tour players are skipping that event I'm sure there weren't many 21 yr old players who lost out on a spot.

Well we're talking about one player not getting to play. This comes up when they let these celebrities play but when the guy knows there is a low likelihood he can even get through the tourney, that's a completely different matter. If you are telling me he didn't take anyone's spot, then ok.

I see that some do not know what a sponsor exemption or invite is. No spot is taken from an upcoming young pro......the sponsor gets up to eight invites .....the tournament director decides. They want some one that will bring eyes to the tournament like a celebrity or local Pro ......as long as they have a zero or less handicap. They put up the money and they can invite anyone that meet their criteria.

I know how a sponsor's invite works, and I don't have any issue with Romo getting one. Initially, I don't think he took away a spot from some deserving up and comer. However, after withdrawing from the Tahoe, he had to know if was very questionable that he could go this week. If he would have withdrawn a couple of days before the tourney, I'm sure they would have found somebody from the alternate list to take that spot.

KFT sponsor invites primarily go to members of the tour who have conditional status. These players pay upwards of $25k to get these invites.

The players write to the event sponsor and show how they’re going to bring in money for the event ie multiple pro am groups or having someone already on the board of the sponsor.

Given that there aren’t any pro ams this year it’s all about the $ offered. 5 sponsor invites this year as well, 3 of them have to go to members

Im fine with sponsors doing what they want but the fact that he was already carrying an injury is a joke. The first alternate drove down from Minnesota late last night and got absolutely hosed.

Romo did an interview and said at the time.....I thought I could go but the injury flared up and it was just to painful. I'll take his word for it. That's just me though.
