What putter did you just buy ?

Got a sweet, sweet deal on a Byron Morgan DH89 in real good condition. Gonna clean it up, polish it, put an extension and new grip once I decide on the grip.

Will get pics soon of the current state.

Ping Classic Collection Anser 4(new stock), I really love how light the head is. I plan to mess around in the early-season with this bad boy, it rolls great.

Here is the DH89 I just got. As you can see very clean and simple almost tour like, btw not claiming this is a tour putter.

Still don't have the putter. Call it miscommunication or just poor customer service, i'm not too sure yet. Supposed to be shipped out tomorrow. We'll see what happens. More to come lol

Figured I'd try some recent tech with this bad boy. I'll post pics of my vintage Scotty daily driver later on.zd47m96hioc8.png

Fell down a flow neck, big hang rabbit hole after seeing Peter Schmitt's custom tp mills fleetwood(It's more or less perfect). As some training wheels, I just ordered a used Wilson infinite Michigan ave for about a 1/10 of the price of the tp mills. At 265g it's the heaviest head I've ever toyed with. Thinking of throwing a fatcat svelte on there to help keep some of the counter balance action as I've never been a fan of extra weight above my hands.

Edit:not my photo, haven’t received mine yet..

I went for a Quintic fitting last week and wound up with an Odyssey Stroke Lab V-Line CS 35". Roll and stroke metrics from the Quintic system were spot-on with this putter, and I couldn't be happier with the look and feel. I finished the fitting session by rolling a dozen 5-footers and only missed one. First time I've ever had to stop rolling practice putts to empty balls out of the hole before continuing.

I’ve just bought an Odyssey, which is something I never thought I’d say. I think they look a bit cheap.

However, my current Bettinardi has been misbehaving to the point that I’ve lost a bit of confidence in it. So I went to the local store this afternoon and tried several putters, about 25 actually, of various lengths, brands, grips, head shapes...

Had a few goes with the Bettinardi I have in the shop too, and it was better than most to be fair. I didn’t get on with the Scotty Camerons at all, pulled them all left, in fact most blades went left from th Anser to TaylorMade. Three putters appeared to work with my stroke very well, they were all face-balanced mallets, they were the Ping Vault 2.0 Ketsch, the Odyssey Marxman (in both colours) and the the Odyssey Jailbird. I also liked the Marxman Stroke Labs variant, although preferred the Superstroke 2.0 grip.

Anyway, I’ve just ordered a 34” black Marxman O Works. Pretty ugly thing but I do like the great big, ****-off alignment line.

I took about 100 putts from 6-8 feet, the average was probably just under 50% in the hole, with the Marxman the average was 90%, missed two in twenty. The two-ball was nowhere near as proficient in my hands.

Job done.

First round today with this. My best round of putting ever, by quite some distance. 8 pars in the first 9 holes.

This breeds confidence when near the hole. Let’s hope it continues.

Was pretty happy with how I rolled the Wilson last week (especially from 10-15ft.) but hated looking down at it. Found this Piretti Matera Elite-a near twin to the TP Mills Fleetwood that started my search for a 5 oclock, flow neck and pulled the trigger. Honeymoon phase, but, from first sight I couldn’t be happier, the size is perfect for my eye and top line w no flange line is ‘calming’ to look at. Was looking for a CS w toe hang to replace my current gamer and I think that two season experiment may be over... qkm5ut092npx.jpeg
