I've had the Miura CB501's since around when they were first released (2012 maybe??). I don't see myself switching anytime soon.

Is anyone happy with their iron set that's a year or older????? I just bought covert forged in December and Im dying to switch to something new just because....
I've been using the same clubs for more than thirty years. That has not stopped me from buying and trying other clubs for a while and getting them to work for me but once satisfied that they work well I return to my old faithfuls especially if the game is important to me. I simply like my old clubs.

My irons are almost 7-8 years old. 2 iron even older. New isn't always better.
Agreed. I would even go so far as to say that new isn't necessarily better, it's just different.

For much of this season I have been playing a set of irons that are at least 30 years old. Once I got on to them there is virtually no difference in performance for me versus a current type iron. They may not be as forgiving, but they do offer some advantages in terms of turf interaction and control that is hard to duplicate with the modern iron. Woods and wedges are a different story, but with irons and putters there seems to be little reason to be flipping clubs for supposed marginal gains.

My problem is LOFT -- Lack of friggin' talent

I've had the Adams CB1s in my bag since a few months after they were released (Roughly 5 years). I definitely like a few other new models and have considered, but I can't see myself switching anytime soon. Prior to my CB1s I had the Adams Tight Lies irons for about 9 years.

Hahaha! My 690.CB (3-6i) are still in the bag! I just don't play enough to wear them out, so I only ever have to replace the bottom end of my bag. I LOVE those clubs. Classic, look great, pretty beefy and I'm used to the lofts, yardages. I get my MB's bent to correlate to those lofts in fact. I see no need to replace them.
I've played my 690.MB's for a long, long, really long time. I've tried replacing them over the years, but they always seem to make it back into the bag. I guess I'll just quit trying to replace them and hit em' till the grooves wear out. Which I'll probably pull the shafts and send them out to be refurbished... Lol

These days I feel a little self conscious about my attachment to Eye 2's. I just bought my third set of that model, a BeCu set. I'm getting old and have long been looking for a set of those brown clubs and was afraid I'd never find a set. In the next week or two I'll be having them bent to my specs if I can persuade my club maker to do the job. I need an appointment to get him to humor me. :)

710 ap1's i've hit irons that feel similar but nothing i felt were better. if it aint broke don't fix it
Amen to that. I bought the 714 AP1's last year and played them for two weeks. My trusty 710's went bag in the bag and that's where they'll stay. Luckily they forgave me. They are still the best feeling, and most consistent iron I've ever hit. I can't imagine ever playing anything else. I have a back up set just in case.

Great set of sticks. The 962's/962b's are very playable and hold up to any of today's "Player's cavity back" irons. Conforming grooves as well. If you want to grab a set for around $100 and play them for the rest of your golfing life and not have to worry about a thing, you can't do much better than the 962's.
