Anyone satisfied with Irons a YEAR or older?

I play Mizuno MP54's and love them. The sole is fantastic, look at address is great, and they offer a bit of forgiveness for those less than perfect ball striking days. I do not like any of the JPX irons nearly as much.

I have also been sticking with the 54s for my 2nd season. Some threads on wrx say they are short, especially with s300 shafts, but my gaps throughout seem to be ok.

 

I find the distances to be just fine. I play C-Taper 130 X for what it's worth.

I was gaming my Nike VR Spitbacks for the past 6 years up until a few days ago when they got replaced.

Same story for me: I've tried new irons but keep coming back to my Nike VRS forged with stock Nippon shafts, 4-GW, paired with VR forged 56/60. Just haven't found anything that works better for me.

My MP4s are performing lovely. Got them two years ago. I did play some TM Smoke MBs for 8 years prior.

I don't know how old my Orlimar Tour 3's are. Brand new when I bought them this year. Can't find much info on them.

I'm gaming DCI 981s right now and they're just as long, high, and straight as any iron I've tried now (excluding jacked lofts).

Still hitting Mizuno MX-200 irons. They are about 7 years old and I have no plans to upgrade because I haven't found anything that I like better.

Just put some Steelfibers in my J40 DPC irons and plan to stick with these for a while. But then again, I thought I was going to stick with my DW Scratch EZ1 irons with RIP shafts longer than 3 months.

Bridgestone J40 DPCs. Will be my third season with them, love them as much as the day I got them.

Same here. Except I just got them reshafted with Project X LZ. Cannot wait to hit them this weekend

I've played my 716CBs just at a year now, and they've been nothing short of phenomenal - great distance control, better distance on strong swings than my MP32s, and have helped me increase my GIRs and handicap from 2.9 to 0.1 (was at 0.0 for a few weeks).

My G25 have been around for a while. Debating about getting the G series just because they look shinier and a bit less "Ping" in appearance. But I'll probably just regrip the G25s.

My irons I bought second hand off the bay and will be about 3-4 years old probably. Granted I only bought them at the back end of last year. I doubt i'll change them anytime soon. My wedges are about 8-9 years old, my putter is about 16 years old. I tend to game stuff for a while.

I've been playing the MP 52 since 2009 and they are a blast. They start showing some wear and tear but its really hard for me to let them go as I just have so much history with them. I used them to break 100, 90 and 80 even though the latter only occurs on my very best rounds (yes, I was a 17yo stupid beginner that thought MPs are a wise idea) and they are a big reason why my iron game is quite good.

Im actually always watching ebay for a mint or new set that I can buy and reshaft after a fitting.

 

In general, keeping clubs a bit longer is quite a good thing for me, as it takes me a lot of time to get used to them.

I got the Cobra King Pro Black CB's last February and I'm loving them still. Finish still looks amazing after at least 75 rounds (living in the Midwest sucks).

Been playing a Ping G25 fdrocer or well over a year now. Still in love with the way I hit it. Been thinking of pulling the trigger on a used set of MP 53s as a cost effective option because I see a lot of love for them here.... just can't make up my mind yet.

In 5 year old irons. Feel is fine, forgiveness still outstanding. Look is maybe a little meh, but I don't need my irons to have blinking LED's or anything. Maybe the finish is not as nice as say G's or the new G400, but that's splitting hairs.

My irons are all 2011-2015 model year vintage, even if they are newer to me owning them from buying them recently.

 

GI irons might have some differences in their construction now and again, but anything playery? I don't think there is anything in one of the heads of a 2017 "players iron" that's going to make any difference to my shots over what's in my 2011 irons.

 

I'm sure others could have said the same about 2006 compared to what they saw in 2011 and on down the line :)

Gave up Mizuno MP-62s before I switched to the TMs. Loved them, seriously loved them. I just wore the grooves out on them...

Would have bought another set of Mizunos again, but my buddy gave me his (my now) PSi

Played some Callaway X-Tour irons with Tour Concept S3 shafts for 9 years. Had no issues with them and still not convinced I gained all that much by moving to a set of the p770's this year. I guess we all have to move on at some point though.
