In her defense, it IS a personal video from a phone though....and the video apparently deletes after one day. I guess I don't really see why it's a problem to the tour any more than posting a standard practice round picture or video from inside the ropes just because the video is now live streaming.

I did just remember another issue that Stephanie was "reprimanded" for by the Tour back at the Phoenix Open. She was at the 16th tee with Tiger's group during a practice round and posted a couple of videos of him talking about how it would be funny to shank one into the crowd off the tee...there were some F-bombs from TW as well and the Tour asked her to take them down the same night she posted them. Could be an issue where this is potentially strike 3 and that's why the punishment seems harsher than necessary for the one "crime" alone.

There was a hilarious article written about her in 2008ish before she was a "journalist" about her heiress life in NYC...how she doesn't miss and tell but talks about how she shacked with Heath Ledger and how much he wanted her...the interview article was after he passed. I actually like some of the stuff she posts but other times she comes across as a spoiled brat and extremely unprofessional.

I'm not sure I'd consider her a "writer on Tour", she's more of Tour Groupie with an Instagram account. She's the epitome of the spoiled brat generation, in my opinion. Mommy bought her that expensive co-op on 5th Ave in NYC she hardly ever sees, after writing the $250,000 check for her 4 years at Yale (Wei is obviously no dummy). After she "left" her PR job in NYC, she hung around the Tour for a few years without credentials, occasionally selling a story to SI. If I recall correctly, 2 or 3 years ago, the only way she got credentialed for The Masters was to hook up with some obscure newspaper from overseas and she's been involved in more than a few other controversies over her credentials (or lack of) and has supposedly received numerous "warnings" from the Tour.

She occasionally comes up with some interesting stories, but she seems way more interested in taking selfies, while sucking up to the young, good looking Tour players and hanger ons. There's never been a party or pub crawl on tour she didn't think was a "can't miss" event on her social calendar.

Two things on both sides of the fence.

1. Know who you work for and work with. Stephanie already knew this was a good ole boys club when she signed up and wanted to be in the industry. I'm not saying it's right, but its the reality of the situation. She had to have known to try and push the envelope regarding this was going to come with a harsh and potentially unfair punishment.

2. Golf is dying partly because the good ole boys who grew up with exclusion and daddy's country club money have been so far separated from reality, they haven't been out in front in regards to technology and how to potentially use that and social media to grow the game to a younger audience. This periscope app, that may be foreign to us older fogies, might be the avenue to get teens attention turned on golf. Kids don't watch much TV anymore, so the Fox, CBS, NBC, Golf Channel conglomerate might not even get young viewers to tune in, but social media apps might. Don't let the Drive, Chip, and Putt fool you, golf doesn't have many kids attention and those kids will grow up into adults that don't care about it. I live in an up and coming area with a lot of young families that have money. The local golf coursees are void of young people.

A professionally credentialed PGA Tour beat reporter taking video, while wearing said credentials within a venue, is "professional use; for gain".

Now, if she happened to be a reporter, with a PGA Tour provided media credential, and was taking video of a tour player at a local restaurant -- then no issues.

At an event, inside the ropes, all of the rights are the PGA Tour's.
