Anser Milled's are 345g except the Anser 5, which is 355g.

Played a super twilight round with the wife yesterday. I'm still getting used to the putter but overall I really like it. I haven't had a sound slot before so at first it threw me off but I am used to it now and like the audio feedback I get. The tr grooves seem to do what they say which is good.

Yup, apparently the antique finish isn't working well with this line of putters. A 1966 TR Anser in antique was something that I really wanted.

Btw, here's the coverage of the head cover, for anyone who cares. I really don't, because I use a generic cover when I play, but this is hopefully more like constructive criticism.

 

This is what it looks like when you've put it on and purposefully tried to squeeze the putter head all the way in, and seal up the velcro.

 

 

Even without being in a bag that's being carried or jostled around in a cart, the cover inevitably slips forward and the heel of the putter pokes out. I don't have a preference for velcro or magnetic clasps, but I wish they had made the tail end of the cover a little longer to cover the heel and also extended the velcro higher to seal the putter in.

 

One positive, in addition to the clean, classic all black look, is that the "neck" of the cover is slim, which means that it will fit into most bags or putter wells snugly without bunching up or getting pushed off the putter.

 

Can't believe I actually made a semi-long post talking about a stinking head cover. With a picture too. :)

Since I had the putter out, I did take more pictures in good lighting, not that you've never seen a stock Anser 2 before. I will say again that the finish of this is fantastic for a $150 off the rack, cast putter.

 

 

I absolutely LOVE the older school thin topline. I can't even stand to look at my Odyssey MXM #2 any more now that I have the Anser 2.

It's not on their website. However I went into the store and they were able to special order one for me. I also had gift cards I wanted to use. I ordered mine 3/31 so hopefully getting it soon.

Got mine today in the mail. This is my first ping putter and couldn't be happier. the finish is perfect. i got the ping man blackout grip to get a little more feel. Feel is really nice, a bit softer then my current putter a GSS kingston kp1. Cant wait to get this out on the course.

First round with my new Anser 2. Everything I like about my old Anser 2 but with a much more forgiving, face distance wise. No glare, easy to aim, very nice feel on most strokes. Mine feels heavier than I expected so I might reorder and ask for a lighter weight head. Having said all of that, I had one of my better putting rounds in a while on a tough course. NICE PUTTER!! Especially at the price.

Have an Anser2 coming in with the Starshot finish. Can't wait to try this putter out. I had a 1959 Karsten putter and loved it.

Just got my Anser 2 in the mail and couldn't be happier. Anser 2, sound slot, starshot finish, 1* flat, 2* loft. The starshot finish is a lot darker than the photos show—which is awesome. Quality is superb. Starshot finish well worth the extra 30, IMO. With the Pingman Blackout grip, an excellent putter.

Rolled mine side-by-side at the local golf store, and the sound/feel is dramatically different than the Anser.

That thing is amazing. I'm surprised how different the starshot is. Looks way better imo.

 

Also, interesting that the slot is cut through the back of the cavity under the engravings as oppose to the base of the flange like the reg anser. Prob why the feel and sound is different. Makes it totally hidden at address. Seems like it is closer to the face to, but that is prob just because it's so thin.

Mine showed up today from my Golf Town order, it came straight from Ping. The surprising / odd thing is it came with a Cadence TR cover and not the skinny cover that it was supposed to come with.
