Oh yea. For absolute sure.   I mean we had all kinds.  I once saw a kid from Schenectady New York. ( I know that because he told us how much better it was there constantly 🤣).  He took karate , or some form of martial arts.  Started wearing a belt around his head etc.  alwasy doing some weird chanting or meditation pose at lunch.  
 

well one day he says to this big ogre 👹 that we had all know since kindergarten..” hey Scotty.  Are you as dumb as you look “.   Now to be fair. Scotty was functionally _______. ( use your imagination).  But in 9th grade he probably weighed 260 ish.  Around 6ft2.  The other kid was very small. I mean 110lbs small.     So he says that and Scotty gets up.  Walks over and says “ I’ll see you in the locker room “ 🤣.  We all had PE  class next.    The martial artist strikes some sort of defensive posture , and Scotty laughs and walks away . 
 

 

sure enough. We go to PE class and I hear “ fight fight “. We had doors that went outside to a courtyard those days. That weren’t locked. Ever. They had went out the back and were squaring off. The small kid came at Scotty with some sort of flying kick.  Scotty caught his whole body.  Carried him 4 feet and deposited him in a trash can. And put the lid on it.  And said “ take that back to your king fu teacher “. 🤣.  I swear that happened.  And nobody ever said a word to Scotty. The pe teacher never came.  And from that day on , if my best bud from school or I sees someone get hit , it told off , one of us will say “ take that back to your kung  fu teacher “!!!! 😜. And we will both roll and laugh.  
 

I have no idea what became of that little dude.  Scotty runs a heavy equipment service , clearing land etc.  and hes  still as duh hu as ever.    I have more. That’s just one of the cleaner instances

I had a guy on the Masters thread after the tournament was over, maybe expressing his angst over a year until the next one, pretty much say I was wearing an Apple Watch for “look at me” attention.   My reply was milder than I wish it was now.  Watch given to me by my favorite (only) daughter when she saw me using my phone app for golf distances and told me of this wonderful new invention for my wrist which can link with it.  😀

 

Most of the Masters thread was great fun and I loved the tournament. Esp the windy days and Scottie’s Sunday back (whoops, sorry Fred) nine.   Since the end  pretty much the trolls have come out.

The Masters lacked serious late drama (again) but that’s ok. Without question it identified the best player. The weather cooperated and the course was perfect — as difficult as I can recall it playing in some years.

No. I didn’t think anything like 75 % likelihood  of Sheffler winning , as far as odds. 
 

im simply looking at it differently than the other guy.  And trying to explain myself, to deaf ears.  It’s fine.  I’m used to it.  I know you made a commment about me “ gaslighting “ others before. A long while back.  And I get how you’d say that. But I’m honestly not. I just come at things from odd angles sometimes. And folks think I’m faking it. I’m not.  I’m just odd. I tried to explain why I said Sheffler was a sure thing to win. ( in context of anyone else ).  And also why I’m not a gambler.  But I failed to explain it. Or they failed to listen. Either way I’m not going to reply to him anymore.  
 

the gist is that I see it very conservatively.  And think of a sure thing as picking who I think will win.  Not who will pay out the most IF they win.  A sure thing to me means less chance of losing money.  
 

and I catch myself trying to explain again. 🤣.  I don’t know why. I give two F’s about it.  I mean really.  I make a comment about some rich ______ canoe making more money on two Bets than I’ll see in 10 years work , and boom. See. I agree with that.  I’ll gamble on myself playing golf. And I look at the pot money as “ price of admission “. If I get it back it’s a bonus.  If I don’t. That’s what the game costs today.  But I have some input on the outcome.  Betting on someone else is a helpless feeling. I don’t enjoy it.  So I don’t.

Totally. It's why I don't do any sports betting either. And really ... why golf appealed to me beyond other sports when I was a kid. Never cared for the idea of losing because someone else screwed the pooch.
