Some classic rock is fine I suppose, I just don’t need to hear the same two songs from Led, Lynyrd, AC/DC, and so forth that every source you can think of has on repeat ever again. Enough!

 

I am a huge reggae fan too (long story) and it’s the same with Bob. I can’t really listen to any of the tracks on Legend any more. Thankfully he has a sizable catalog of work beyond that stuff that’s been played into oblivion and back. 
 

There was a thread on here years ago asking what would your walk-out song be for the first tee? There was everything on there, from Merle Haggard to Gin & Juice 😂.

I did frequent the jiggly room in Ft. Lauderdale that " girls girls girls" was shot at years ago (Pure Platinum) It was quite the place and I took two customers there at their request. I broke the Company record for a 1 night expense, but I did get the sale!!

There is another story about how badly that expense report went with the very proper lady that processed them, but the owner asked if I got the sale and when I did he made the problem go away.

Agree for certain with won’t get fooled again.  Free bird is a once a year thing.  And I try to make it live concert footage  , not some rando radio version.  But I hear ya.  I ain’t listening to it everytime it comes on.  Same for stairway to heaven.  🤣

I’ll get flamed by some for this.  But I swear.  I think I’d pick Curtis Jackson P.I.M.P for my walkout.     I think that beat is why music in a golf tournament is illegal and deemed to be a tempo aide. .  I find it impossible to hit a bad shot with that on.  And that’s not even close to the limits of my varying music experience…. I don’t know a lot of new age elevator stuff.  🤣.  But I know mountains of odd stuff that don’t fit my stereotype…. And I’m not even talking rap.  ( but rap is included ). 
 

when the steel drum starts. It’s buttery smooth tempo from then on.  🤨

Summer is approaching so the grill is getting a workout. Mrs. Lindy is laid up recovering from ACL surgery so I can call the shots on what’s cooking. I was getting tired of our grilled chicken marinade so I decided to switch up and go with a chicken shawarma. Paired it with a decadent sweet potato, loaded up with butter and brown sugar. It was so good and also qualified as a dessert, so I had a second helping.

when the pasta goes into the water, i throw onions, freshly crushed tomatoes, garlic and basil into a hot skillet with some evoo, keep stirring and it’s ready when the pasta is. a little shaved parmesan and all is right with the world. super fresh topping.

add a salad and garlic toast.

 

money game tomorrow, need some carbs. took out an old set of _______’s to the range yesterday and they were epic.

Pocket watches are cool but I was not a railroad conductor. I retired after 40 years with a German Pharmaceutical company. For my 40 year service award, I had the choice of several nice items including expensive watches and other shiny baubles but selected a MacBook Pro since I would use it. 

As a kid, my parents got me a Hop along Cassidy watch since I wanted to be a cowboy. My allergies scuttled that career choice and the rash and eczema around my wrist soured me on wearing a watch.

ok, so what’s the deal with rolex? the founder and his wife supported orphanages and charitable causes in switzerland going back 70+ years ago. he owned 100% of the shares of the private company.

 

he died with no heirs and setup a charitable trust that owns the for-profit rolex company. he wanted the company to continue for the benefit of employees and customers, not for any shareholders.

 

so, the company operates like any for-profit company. after expenses and reserves for r&d and self financed capital investment, the net profit goes to the charitable trust.

 

the trust funds things like the national geographic society, medical research, education scholarships, the arts and other charitable entities that contribute to society.

 

the company and trust are private, but $1-$2 billion per year is estimated to be the charitable distribution by the trust.

 

not bad for a company with fashion drone, uncool customers who aren’t cute and furry like, say, apple customers.

Back in the day you could get ANYTHING at Sears. You could get house kits to build you a home. Even cars like the Allstate which was actually a Henry J made by the Kaiser car company. Our first golf carts at the old man's course were Sears in like 1962. Back in the day at Grannies Greenville NC was not that big and ECU was East Carolina Teachers College. They did not have a big store like we had in Charlotte but a small one with catalog sales. No problem order what you wanted and it was shipped there in a couple of days. I do not know now if any Sears stores are still open. I know the one in Dirty Myrtle closed about 10 years ago now. It was pitiful anyhow. Last time I went in there I had a stripped out 1/2 drive ratchet. Now they used to give you a new ratchet if requested or a kit if you wanted to keep the old one. The ratchet was Grand Dad's and I wanted to keep it. I was told no one was on duty that was "authorized" to change out the head. I have replaced quite a few of those heads over the years and knew the part number. I told the guy give me that kit right there. I pulled my pocket screwdriver out and popped the snap ring right then and there and installed. You would have thought I was preforming brain surgery by the 6 or 8 employees intently watching. I thought to myself wonder why Wal Mart and Home Depot were kicking their butts.

Two different horses for different courses.  The Rolex is for the trotting race segment and the Apple's for the farmers doing actual work.  I appreciate both, but surely won't ever own a Rollie because it's not my style or fit my wallet parameters.

We have a little thing going with our Shootout team when we play. The kid who is our wringer is a real long knocker and player (shot 66 from the back tees in an event at World Tour last week). 2 weeks ago when we played I was nutting the driver from the Super Senior tees. On one Par 5 I left us like 148 in and he exclaimed "Stu you are an animal" LOL I hit a 9 WOOD in and he hit 9 iron and I will add closer even though I did hit the green. He started singing the song "Animals Animals WOO HOO". I know the song but do not know who does it. He says that would be my walk out song

One of the songs on my check play list I check out a sound system with along with Bebe O Reilly. In addition to my playlist I have it on DVD and believe it or not on cassette along with my Vevo and U-tube lists. Actually just added to Spotify since where I run sound at went to Spotify about a year ago. I have my own Spotify channel there with my own playlist and code

i think time (era), place and circumstances play a big part in all our choices. there was a time when you weren’t a real golf competitor if you didn’t have a rolex. sounds stupid, but some truth to it.

 

anyway, i make my ladies buy my watches. 🙂
