I am a prolific poster on many threads. Not all of them last for months, though, so it adds up to quite a few posts on this one.

I am an enthusiast about golf, golf equipment and particularly golf balls. My only motivation for being in this discussion is the fact that we're talking about a golf ball of the type (urethane "Tour" balls) that I use. If you think about, probably 10-20% of the golf ball discussion on this forum over the past 6+ months has been K-Sig related one way or another.

P.S. In my opinion, we need another term rather than "word of mouth" to describe stuff we read online. I guess "read it online" doesn't have the same way of rolling off the tongue as "word of mouth".

All subject to change in the blink of an eye.........and I blink a lot.

> And a Cameron Newport is certainly no better than a $30 Ping Anser.

+1

A new Ping Anser hasn't been $30 for over twenty years.

so it has to be new? I meant in my post the Cameron is no better than an Anser. Used is just as good.

To track coach and others that don't feel there has been bashing, I guess I'm just so sensitive. :( Would you agree there have been plenty of posts along the lines of "if I can get the Ksig for $$29.99 a double dozen why in h*** would I pay Titleist or TM prices"? If that's not the derisive equivalent of saying why would "anyone" pay more than so be it.

This has to be one of the few golf products every on golf wrx with reverse snobbery. Personally I do not care what anyone plays out how much they paid. And yet for golf balls only the Ksig fans will zealously defend a ball that a) may have been out before but they did not like b) is only rarely available. c) may or may not return. d) if it does return it will still be zealously defended no matter it's origin.

I'm seriously happy for you guys. I have never had a brand that I am so enmeshed with.

PS as of as it sounded to me a buddy did say that the Ksig scotch is on his shelf at home. And he likes it.

The Ksig doesn't seem very durable. I'm still enjoying them after buying a couple boxes, but I have noticed after gettin beat on by wedges they get a bit eaten up. more so than I'm used to.

Naaw! he is talking about older used ones. I find them at yard sales and thrifts all the time for $3 and sell them for $20 or $25. Helps pay for my club hoeing and golf habits

I played 10 rounds with one ball before. Most of my KSigs last 4 or 5 rounds before I transition in a new one. No issues with durablility or performance on my end.

Most people play golf balls that are above their handicap. If I was a 4.2 like you are I'd play Titleist Pro V1's just for the quality control and certainty that every Pro V1 in my bag would be consistent. I also wouldn't lose as many in the woods and water hazards so my overall cost to play them would be less.

I won my first professional event with the Costco Kirkland Signature ball yesterday. A backyard par 3 invitational on my buddy's property against a field of local PGA professionals. I get to wear the green jacket for a year and it's thanks to you KSig.

That is AWESOME! How many FedEx Cup points did you get for the win?

His tour looks pretty anti-establishment. I'm guessing they go with the much more sought after UPS points.

I have yet to find a handicap requirement label on any golf ball packaging.

They'd just ignore it like they do handicap based tee box suggestions on scorecards. Gotta play from the tips is a lot like gotta play Titleist.

I agree. What ball you play has exactly as much to do with your handicap as what tees you play has to do with your handicap. Precisely nothing.

So hit the local Costco on the way home today even though on Sunday it is like being in the worst traffic in mid day in Thailand, but came across this wonderful product they were sampling. Not Kirkland but OMG these are AWESOME!! Totally worth the parking nightmare and cart bashing and bumping inside the store. Highly recommend!

I think most of the people saying that can be taken at face value, and they don't really care how other people spend their own money. If you consider that line of thought as "bashing" others, then you leave a very narrow window for people to express the value of the ball without it being seen as offensive. And are there really that many people in this thread "bashing" Titleist and TM users, who have Cameron putters and TM drivers in their signatures? :no2: I'm guessing your consideration that you may be oversensitive was made tongue-in-cheek, but there might be more truth to it than you think.

Totally worth the parking nightmare and cart bashing and bumping inside the store.

The parking and bumper-carts situation, particularly in older layouts, is rather unpleasant.

I will check Costco in Portland for those. The garlic stuffed olives are really good too.

Haven't been able to put in significant practice/testing but played my second full round with the ksig yesterday and it checked the one box that I needed it to:

Was just shy of the green (maybe 30 yards) in two on a par 5, tight lie with the green about 7-8 ft increase in elevation (bump & run out of the question). Front flag with a ridge approx 10 ft past running down and away. Clipped it clean with my 60, landed a pace or two past the flag one hop and stop (sigh of relief).

Other than that, plenty long and plenty of spin on full shots (for me).
