US or Europe? Which team is going to win?

I'd like to see the Americans win, but same old players is probably going to give the same old result.

The task force seemed like a good idea, but the only thing coming out of the task force so far that I can see is the selection of Rickie Fowler. Smart move. The reason it seems a lot of the Americans cant understand his selection is the reason they've got their butts kicked so often. Most of them don't understand that chemistry and balance has just as much impact in winning teams events as talent. They just can't get their head around that yet its been staring them in the face for how long? So that selection at least was a step in the right direction.

If they leave out Bubba and bring in some new blood that will surely help them. Its clear the task force and most of the team don't want him, but you know the Americans, they will probably fall to public pressure again and pick him and that's bound to be their undoing again. I'd like to see them bring in Thomas, but even Kisner or Berger would help.

Interesting times again.

News flash. We lost the last 2 RCs with mr chemistry on the team. Awful post.

This time around I think the US team is just too strong. I'm going out on a limb and even say I don't think it's going to be close. First time I've ever felt that strong about it either way.

As a european i think USA will win this year. The european team is weaker than normal imo and Stenson struggling with injuries etc aswell is not good. Think USA will win pretty easy...

If Bubba ain't playing I'm seeing very little point in watching this Ryder Cup. Crap European team and captain plus no Bubba (yet) to cheer on. Love Bubba's approach to the game.

Fowler is just going through a lean patch, he'll do just fine for you guys. It could be worse he could be going through a Westwood period and rely on his mate for a gig.

Bubba and Kevin Na? Rickie ain't had a great season but Kevin Na? The guy is a serial bottler, doesn't seem like a hugely popular guy in the locker room and annoys guys because he is so slow and a bit of a head case...from a European perspective he'd be a brilliant US pick.

JB Holmes, Koepka, Kuchar and before this year DJ are also "bottlers".

Popularity in the locker room is irrelevant. Golf is an individual sport.

Being slow and annoying is the point. Put him Against Sergio or a rookie and see the fireworks.

Except the Ryder Cup which is 4/5th a team game. The only fireworks you'd see from Na is his head and psyche exploding as the pressure got to him.

Actually it's an excellent post and anyone that has Played a team sport understands the importance of chemistry and unity in a team's structure, regardless of the talent level.

I'm not really sure who "Mr. Chemistry" is however I've Played on Championship Teams, in both football and Golf, and while we had incredible chemistry, we didn't have a "Mr. Chemistry."

That's probably part of the problem, lol

This is most definitely a team event because anyone who's spoken at length as a participant has talked of walking the fairways and looking over and seeing their teammates rooting them on and how if they were just in a regular tournament and going sideways they would just scrape it around but they see their teammates and all of the fans and they do not want to let them down.

THAT is the effect of the event and some guys fit into that mold better than others. All ya have to do is look at the past few Euro teams and compare their chemistry and comraderie with the US's

All the Best,

RP

In the end, only three things matter~

How much that you loved...

How mightily that you lived...

How gracefully that you accepted both victory & defeat...

GHIN: Beefeater 24

Yes, let's change the selection process that has seen Europe win 6 of the last 7 Ryder Cups... Give Clarke a chance, McGinley picked Stephen Gallacher, who was a poor pick last time and still ended up winning.
