Tiger seen extensively testing mizuno irons, Callaway woods

I was scrolling through my twitter feed and per @TwSpot Big Cat was seen extensively testing Mizuno Irons and Callaway woods by another medalist member. He supposedly has tested multiple different mizuno sets and a deal may be in the works.

 

Mizuno was more than expected but it seems he may be following Rory into Callaway woods. Anyone else seen anything?

It would sort of make sense, most of the Mizzy pros only play their irons, maybe their wedges. They're known primarily for their irons, their woods are an afterthought at best. Shoot, it's hard to even find their woods in most stores around California.

 

Mizuno doesn't seem to care as much about locking players into 14 club deals. Donald plays a TM driver and Odessey putter and he's probably among their more prominently advertised players. So Tiger *could* play Mizzy custom irons, probably custom wedges, his trusty Scotty, and what woods he can can actually hit in the short stuff.

I believe he played Mizunos at Stanford. His Nike irons were likely either Mizuno/ Miura. Really no change from what he's used to I imagine, but now he doesn't have to have the Nike logo on his clubs.

No. We need to make sure we explore every possibility. My club pro told me the rep for Vertical Groove Golf came by and they will also be signing Tiger in addition to Daly. They already have a new driver in the works called a Liger 350.

Because it went from legit equipment conversation to dopes taking it to something different. Tiger played Mizuno blades forever as an amateur. And who knows what he will do with driver and fws but right away people take it and make it silly because they hate tiger. It's a joke. Leave the thread as it was meant to be.

We are still talking about what he played in college? He's been a pro now for 20 years. He designed those Nike blades, they are exactly what he wants. What benefit is there to go to a Mizuno other than a couple million $$? Crazy. Might as well try the new Odyssey insert while you are at it.

Played 14's and 29's and mix set forever as an amateur. Would be kinda cool to make reproduction of them with today's technology

point taken however as much as I like this site there's a lot of people on here who profess to know shiat who turn out to know jackshiat. When pictures were first shown of Rory's Cally irons there were people pixel peeping the photos shouting "photoshop - fake". People w/all of their "sources" assuring that Tiger buying TM was all but a done deal. Speculation about Tiger w/Miura. There's a lot of people here who would like to be thought of as insiders and are actually idiots. For what its worth this is a streetlight, not a UFO. And if you don't understand this reference you need to get out more.

I don't think it will be based on the 33's though. He will want a higher muscle my guess.

But who knows how many sets of clubs he has in the exact specs he demands? One would think he has plenty but as he wears them out they will need replacement.

 

Mizuno has the yoro-craft line where you can specify any number of features and have a truly one off set. This is available at the consumer level in Japan/asian markets. Mizuno would most definitely build him whatever he desires with no limit on options.

 

And so what about the money. He's Tiger Woods who pushed BUICK for crying out loud. You think be had a buick bag because he wanted to drive a Rainier? Dolla Dolla bills y'all!
