Tiger designing new taylormade irons

Recommended Posts

Don't know why people keep throwing Miura into the convo. They are no better than Endo forged or Mizuno forged. I've hit Miuras and rainbows aren't shooting from the club face and unicorns don't forge the irons with their horns. They are good... but not mystical.

TM will make a great blade for Tiger, and I'll want them... no shame here.

agree Kyoei is the best forging on earth ..they use organic unicorn horn .... :scenic:

I agree about Miura. If they were readily available as Callaway, Titleist etc... would they have the same mystical following?

To be sure they are beautiful looking blades.

Personally, I hope they just re-release the current model (2014 MB) with "TaylorMade" logo on the toe and the "TP" medallion in the center of the muscle.

Or, better yet, the "TP" medallion on the toe of the muscle (like the MP14) and a TaylorMade logo on the hosel.

Or maybe they will have a"TW" logo on the toe???

Where are current TaylorMade offerings forged?

p770 or p750

Somewhere along the Yangtze

Is that a fact? Forged somewhere in China?

Really

Totally right, there are no mystical powers to any Miura forging over other premium forging houses. But these other high end houses simply don't compare to Miura in terms of quality control i.e. exacting specifications. I haven't seen a Miura iron that was off spec. Not sayIng they're exempt from any blemished sets, but certainly not the norm.

That's what makes Miura, Miura. The increased attention to detail that is ingrained within their cultural framework (family owned, family operated).

Not China, Thailand. About 40 min outside Bangkok

In joining TaylorMade in a multi-year deal (no financial information was disclosed), Woods will play the company’s metal woods, irons and wedges. Woods will work with TaylorMade’s club engineers and have a role in designing and developing a new iron model that will make its debut at a future date yet to be determined, according to a press release.

He ought to learn to hit what they make first like the other players.

He already has irons grooved to his liking from Nike, why switch to an arbitrary blade set?? That's like going to a completely new barber and asking for the usual haircut, expecting the usual results with no frame of prior reference to go by.

Currently has a set of p750 he is testing while they continue to develop other designs for him

Cavity backs? Oh man hope you all have been sinking a bunch of money into upgrading golfwrx.com server capacity lately.

There is no way he plays cavity backs! That's about as likely as him playing an adjustable driver. It will never happen.

Since he is getting paid to play TM clubs, it is not an arbitrary set. Every set of blades he has played has had differences. The MP-14/29 combo had a different muscle profile than the Titleists, which were different from the Nikes. It's not like he would be going from Big Berthas to AP2's. Considering that the TP MB's are very similar to the MP-29 and 14, it would be more like slipping on an old pair of loafers.

where would you guess? chicago ?

I don't know. That's why I asked.

I asked specifically because i didn't want to guess. Somewhere along the Yangtze is a flippant answer.

The fact that I haven't got a straight answer tells me that you don't really know, that nobody that has answered seems to know. I was curious, that's all.

There are several forging houses that are used....

By Taylormade?

It's really a simple question. Where does Taylormade get their current forgings done?

There is an answer above. They may use more than one due to production schedules, the release timing of new product and so on. Why does it matter that much? They are all very good.

Which answer is the "answer above"?
