Tour Boys Cover The Gamut in Anonymous Poll...

Forged4ever

Recommended Posts

An interesting poll took place with the Players and I figured that it would be right down a lot of guys' alley as it was an anonymous poll, LMAO.

http://www.golf.com/tour-news/2017/03/16/sports-illustrated-golfcom-anonymous-pga-tour-player-poll

They covered some interesting topics from the Best ball striker on through the bag and also wiite a few off the course issues.

Though I Played with him once and he, he was a machine, Inwas still surprised that he took Best Ball Striker.

My only surprise there is that #2 wasn't #1 in that category-

One answer that I found cute was in response to "Should the PGA Tour publicize its disciplinary actions?"...

"No. They've got to protect our image" ??

LMAO, that is typical?

My response to any idiot that would ever say that without the protection of anonymity would be how bout YOU protect your own image ;)

Feel free to comment on any poll subject though Please tread lightly regarding any potentially inflammatory political topics.

Thanks much :)

All the Best,

RP

If Danny Willet gives up golf from tomorrow he will be remembered for ever, at least once a year if not more often, as the owner of a green jacket. Unlike that bloke currently on tour who has won every year for seemly ever, but whose name I cannot recollect.

Why do guys hate Torrey Pines? Is it just the constant crying over Poa annua greens or the fact that they can't keep it dry enough to give the tour guys their expected 80 yards of roll?

Or maybe it's the brain-dead, derivative/thoughtless design. Never seen a golf course suck the fun out of a beautiful location moreso than Torry South.

I set my Kaspersky to block all data collection. Now I can't see many websites, lol, like the

one this poll is on. Oh well, at least they won't track me all over trying to sell me stuff.

You mean Dustin Johnson current holder of the US Open trophy? Who will be remembered at least once a year, if not more often as the winner of a US Open and the guy who has one at least once on Tour every year unlike some bloke who won a Mastsrs but whose name I cannot recall?

Roughly speaking, this is like saying you'd rather have Trevor Immelman's career than Kenny Perry's.

I'd take KP's. And I can see why most tour pros would too.

No I'm not. What I am saying is that when the debate comes around on WRX and it often does, the members of WRX usually put the Masters above all else. My point was that the pro's have voiced their thoughts on it and they don't seem to have the same opinion.

As an aside and on a personal level, yes I am surprised at their choice and while it is not something that I need concern myself about,if I had to make the choice then call me Trev all day long.

I can understand the win every year, it means you're one of the best players on Tour for years. Despite Trevor Immelman winning the Masters, I don't think anyone regarded him better or having a better career than say Sergio Garcia. Sure everyone would love to win the Masters, but no more wins for the rest of your career is a big miss. If you're 40, then maybe it's ok, but if you're in your early 20s then it's a bit of an anti-climax.

I thought that was refreshing. Nice to see that most of the players care about wins more. I think wins are undervalued by the media and fans. Lets see if any of these young punks can catch Phil's 42 pga tour wins.....

Some will most likely. I think Jordan has 9 already and Rory 13 or 14 but then I remember what

happened to Yanni Tseng.......nevertheless I think someone is bound to surpass him. That's just

the way it goes. Now, Tiger's 79? Don't see anyone beating that, except Tiger, if he can get and

stay healthy enough to play enough. By now we all expected him to be a 25/100 guy pre 2009.

You expected tiger to be at 25 majors & 100 wins by now? Even the greatest fan fiction writer didnt believe that. When YE Yang put his boot on Tigers throat it was over. Any edge he had on the field was gone in majors. It sent him to the depths of changing his swing again which was the final nail in the coffin. This is honestly where i expected him to finish at give or take a major because father time and injuries catches everybody.

A win a year gets you 12-15 million and all the security or toys that brings with it.

Set up is normally overly tough, design really not great at all after Rees Jones mishandled it for the US Open. It gets a lot of credit as a course for the sole reason of being on a cliff. If it were in the middle of Iowa with the same shot values next to no one would be bothered.

1 win a year for 10 years or Masters win and that's it? The competitor in me wants to win as much as I can. That might be how they are thinking about it. Not the money or fame.

I wonder what the answers would be if it was 1 win a year for 10 years or 1 Masters win... except the money was the same each year on average (i.e. a few more 2nd places during the 9 non-winning years).

Until he won the U.S. Open last year, the guy you're talking about was Dustin Johnson. As in he won at least one tournament a year for 10 years ! It takes his kind of talent to win a tournament every year . And if you're winning at least one tournament per year it means your contending in multiple others. So likely means you're winning at least $3 million per year. Which means you get in every single major and WGC event for 10 years . I would way rather have Tom Kites career minus the U.S. Open win then Larry Mize's! Not even a comparison!
