My shot of the year happened just last week. Tee shot on a short par three plugged in a downhill sidehill lie in the back of the bunker. I seriously questioned taking an unplayable it was so bad. Hooded the L wedge a bit and popped it out to the short side pin to about six feet and made the part putt.

My best shot so far during a skins game with some buddies.

 

My buddy had a 4-5 foot putt for birdie, but had to give me a stroke on the hole.

 

I was off the green about 10-15 yds from an elevated green. I pulled my shot a bit and my ball landed on the high side. It hits my buddy's ball (we play ready golf and I didn't ask him to mark) and banks into the hole!

 

He makes his birdie putt but I won with the stroke!

So I'm playing in our club men's Wednesday night end of year playoff match. 5 man playoff over four holes, one man eliminated each hole either by score or chipping/putting contest. I get to the second to last hole and pull my tee-shot into a creek. After the drop I'm 200 out. With nothing to loose I pull my trusty Titleist 909f 5 wood and somehow smoke it from the rough and hold the green - leaving 10 footer. Miss the putt but make it through that hole and the following to win.....

Best shot/hole this year was at Trump Nat’l in LA. Cleared the ravine from the tips into the wind. Only one in my group to do so and was able to convert the tee shot to a birdie as well.

Best shot was a chip in from about 60' on the 18th to save par. Had been a rough round and was the last round of the trip so to end on a high note was great!

Best shot of 2017- hit a powerline off the tee in a tournament and said “what are the odds?”. Took the auto re-tee and hit it again.

Tee shot on 317 yard par 4. Tees in the background. Note the ball mark....and yes, I did manage a smooth three putt for a glorious par!!

Our new pro filled in on men's night and I'm playing with him for the 1st time and I'm hacking it around pretty bad. (worse then usual) We're playing some goofy high and low combined score format and I'll give you two guesses who's the high scorer. Come to the 8th hole - par 3 175 yds and I finally connect with one. Unfortunately hit it a little too well and just about flew the green. Well the golf Gods smiled on me that day - ball checks up and screams back about 25 feet and ends up about a foot from the hole. (and I rarely spin the ball back at all!) Thankfully made the putt and felt just a smidge of redemption.

Dang! Those are awesome!! Best shot of 2017? Nothing really stands out since I didn't get to play much. I'll go with my first tee shot at Wyncote - it was the first time I ever played the course and it was as great as I'd always heard it was. Thanks GolfWRX for the opportunity!

Awesome! My best shot was during a 2 man scramble with some buddies. We were on hole 17- by this time, we were pretty "tuned up"! My buddy and I were down 2 strokes and we had 3 bad shots on a par 5. We were just off of the green for our 4th shot. Our opponents were on the green in regulation, but about 35 feet away from the pin. This hole was definitely the most challenging on the golf course. Our lie was not ideal, so we needed a flop shot and have the ball trickle down to the hole. We needed a birdie and I chipped it in! It was pretty awesome and provided some great drama going into 18! Unfortunately, that's where the fun ended because our opponents drained a 15 footer to beat us on the last hole. Either way, for that moment, I felt like a legend!!

Playing golf in NY State in December is an accomplishment in and of itself.....had 140 yards out on par 4, 3rd hole at home course, 8 iron went in for eagle. Why can't I hit those shots in summer?

Had to be my hole in one. 170ish uphill into a slight wind. Hit a nice baby draw that ended up hitting the sloped green left of the pin and seemingly (green is blind) took two hops before rolling in.

20 feet below the green, lying near the hill in the rough and short-sided on the 18th at Moorlands in Myrtle Beach. 64* wedge to two feet.

Best shot this year was from around 140y out where I had to hit around a 15y draw around a group of trees. Ball hit the front of the green and rolled to the flag eventually hitting the pin and stopping 15”away. BIRDIE!!!

145 Par 3 over water. Completely skulled my shot which rocketed straight into the woods beyond the green. After ricocheting around the woods for a minute or two, the ball skipped back onto the sloped green and ended up two inches from hole. Easy birdie !!! :nyam:

A hybrid from 235ish on 17th a par 5 during US 4 ball qualifier (right after my worst shot of the year, missed 2 footer for birdie previous hole). Hit it to about 20 feet fora 2 putt birdie...my partner and I won the qualifier and are headed to Florida in May.

My best shot of the year was a hybrid from 200 within 2 feet. Still getting used to the hybrid so it was nice to finally see some results.

Eagle on the first hole of our golf course...did it twice: 78 yards and 82 yards, sand wedge.

Easy. My best shot of the year was a 200 yard par three that I put within 5ft with a brand new 4 iron. Hit it pure. Hit a lot of other good iron shots, but that is the one that sticks out.
