I was playing in a best ball and my buddy was in good shap on the green. My ball was completely stymied by a tree. The only option I had was to ricochet off a tree about 2 yards away. I hit the spot perfectly on the tree and the ball headed directly at the hole hitting the pin hard and dropping in. I wish you could have seen the faces of my partner and other team. We talked about the shot for the next 11 holes.

my best golf shot from 2017 was:

 

A 5 iron (714 AP2) on the 6th hole at Greywolf from the tips that played 195... she is all carry on the hole named "Cliffhanger". That hole in Panorama BC is something special for sure. i pulled it slightly left on a left pin location and was able to get up and down for par.

Hit a ProV1X off the carpet, through the window, over the garage and fence into the neighbors pool. Nice dip to cool off and retrieve it.

Holing out from 50 yards out on a Par 4 in Whitefish Montana en route to a 6-under front nine. Sick headcover!

Almost an Eagle Hole out on a par 4. Tee shot was just off the fairway but a tree blocked out a direct shot. From 142 yards I hit a shot under the tree with a 6 iron. It landed on the fairway and rolled directly for the back right pin. It caught a piece of the cup and stopped about two feet from the hole. Nearly an Eagle but an easy birdie. Shot was hit with a AP2 - 6 iron.

Best shot was on a 540yd par 5. Smoked a drive and had around 210-220 left to the center. Missed the fairway too. Had low hanging limbs as well. I hit a beautiful punch 4 that started down the left center of the fairway, landed 20yards short of the green and ran up and took the slope of the green and rattled the flag for albatross.

My best shot this year was my first of the year at the beautiful Buffalo Ridge in Branson, Mo.. That shot was my first in 9 years. It jump started a smooth 98 on the card that day but also rekindled my love for this game. That first shot was precursor to 73 buckets of range balls, over 40 rounds of golf, posting a 76 last Sunday, and back to eating,drinking, and sleeping this wonderful game!

My best shot for 2017 happened this summer while playing a par 5 #7 at Southern Landings in Middle GA. I hit my 2nd shot from 240 yds slightly up hill to less than a foot. It finished right behind the hole so could have gone in for the same price.

My best shot this year occurred in the early spring. Several friends and I traveled about 50 miles north of our regular course to play a links course adjacent to one of the casinos in Tunica County. I was playing reasonably well, but nothing spectacular. On a 135 yard par 3, I hit a high shot with a slight draw. As my Titleist Pro V1x hit the green, I thought I might have a pretty good opportunity for a birdie. As the ball rolled to the cup, I thought I might even have a kick in birdie. When the ball dropped in the cup, I had my first hole-in-one!

My first ever eagle was this year (scored 3 more by season's end), and it was more anticlimactic that I imagined it would be.

 

First par 5 on the front nine, I pushed my tee shot right, behind a small cluster of pine trees. When I got to the ball, I had no way out other than to play laterally into the fairway. 3rd shot was 196 to the flag and I hit a really nice 5i right at the green.

 

5 minutes or so later, when the rest of my foursome made it to the green complex, my ball was nowhere to be found. The green-side rough was really thick and we searched and searched off the back of the green. After a few minutes of searching, one of the guys checked the cup and, sure enough, there it was. My first eagle was a hole-out from 196 that I didn't see go in.

 

 

Can't help but laugh at all of you mooks saying stuff like, "Hit ProV1x with my 714 AP2 7iron..." It's a randomly generated winner...you're not going to have better chances of winning because you spam the fact you were playing a piece of Titleist equipment.

First hole in one. 211 yards, 6-iron. Downhill and downwind, but it's still a nice accomplishment. Didn't even see it go in. The sun was behind the green and blurred our vision.

My best shot of the year was a 60 foot putt with a huge break to save par. Longest putt I've ever made. Don't ask me about the bunker shot that led to the putt though.

My best shot was recently on a trip to Florida -- long par 5 - always a 3 shot hole especially with any wind. I pulled my drive a bit through the dogleg right fairway right into a bunker. I hit a terribly fat shot out of the bunker trying to lay up and left myself 165 to the green. The green is very elevated making it play at least a club longer no matter what.

 

i was with my father in law and I had my 3 year old son with me on the cart for his first time out on the course -- he turns and says to my father in law -- my daddys good i think hes going to make this. I didn't make it but i stuck a 7 iron 4 inches from the hole for a tap in birdie

I had this lie on my last hole of the year here in balmy North Dakota. I was able to get it on to the green close enough to save par. Good way to end my year.

My best shot of the year on a Par 5: I nutted my drive (915 D2 10.5°) down the left side of the fairway. Nailed my hybrid (816 H1 19°) to about 47 yards. Smashed my wedge (SM6 58.8 M) about 3 yards past and spun it back in for eagle!

Best shot of my year just happened a few weeks back, black friday round, had 200 from a fairway bunker, little into the wind, took a 3 iron and hit a hit baby draw into a protected green. Hole high 15ft away, was one of those you could watch in the air and just admire, missed the putt of course, but an amazing shot.

Around 235 out on a par 4, lie well below (a foot or two) my feet, put my hybrid 5 feet from the pin.

Best shot of the year was an absolutely piped baby fade drive hit off the tee at #17 at Cabot Cliffs during a guys golf trip in October. I hit it exactly where the caddie told us to hit it and the caddie and everyone else in the group thought it was going to be on the green (short funky little par 4 that is literally on the side of a cliff...most spectacular view you will ever see, but didn't know just how funky of a hole it was until we got to the fairway/green). We searched and searched, but never found my best shot of 2017--just like we never found either of the other 2 good shots hit by guys in my group. Turns out, the play off the tee is a 4 iron, but apparently our caddie was a strong believer in the mantra "no laying up." In total, the group found 1 out of 6 tee shots hit, the rest apparently sailed through the fairway into thick underbrush never to be seen again. The 1 ball that was found was on the green, but my buddy's own admission was nowhere near his best shot of the year and in fact had been blocked about 30 yards right of the line we were given off the tee. Still an unbelievable time though!

Bachelor party outing. Had 210 uphill in on a par 5. Was in between clubs so took a 5 Iron (not enough club) with the expectation to put it right in front of the green. Flushed it to 2 feet. Everyone thought I was golf king, made me feel like a stud.

My best golf shot in 2017 was actually a drive on a really tough Par 5 where I needed a birdie to tie a match.

 

It's become one of the most reliable clubs in my bag and my 915D2 did the trick, a 10 yard fade into the narrowest part of the fairway that allowed me to go for the green in two and make birdie.
