2018 Club Cameron Kit

Its nice he offered up the Sunday bag, but its not the most practical and more of a novelty. I like it, good deal, but not over thrilled.

My bag will go in the man cave to house all of my SC putters. This bag is more of a collectors piece imho.

Everything else I receive in the kit will go on the bay...

I'd argue that a Sunday golf bag is the most practical golf bag there is; if used for the proper application (caddie bag / practice bag / minimalist walking bag).

How in the world can a bag of this nature be more practical than a regular stand/carry bag? Something meant to carry a full set of clubs, and has legs to prop it up when you hit your ball/putt on the green?

Something that only allows you to carry a select few clubs, has no stiffness to stand on it's own, and you have to lay it down completely while swinging...that's the least practical sounding golf bag.

He clearly stated “if used for the proper application”. You can’t highlight a portion of what somebody says and use it against them.

As I replied to you earlier, it can absolutely hold 14 clubs and it’s much lighter than a regular bag. Laying it on the ground is a non issue. You do realize every bag on tour is later down on every hole right?

...by someone who's job is to do that for the player. And what I was responding to is the claim that it's the most practical golf bag. A bag without a stiff spine or legs to prop it up is never, in a million years, more practical than a bag that does have a solid shape and legs to prop it up. Doesn't matter if you're at a range or a par 3 course. A stand bag is always more practical in use.

I also NEVER play par 3's, or a "quick 9 holes". If I'm playing golf, I'm playing a full 18 holes of golf, with all of my clubs. I don't see a point in anything short of that.

It’s almost funny how many WRX’ers are baffled by a Sunday bag and it’s use. People - taking 7 clubs out for a round of golf is a thing. Throwing your short irons/wedges and putter in a Sunday bag and playing a par 3 course is a thing. They’re more practical (and way more popular) than you realize. This is a great kit.

Again it carries all your clubs. Picking it up doesn’t take any extra effort vs a stand bag. I played all my junior, amateur, and first few events of professional golf with a Sunday bag.

I love winning my men's night walking with my 8 clubs in my Sunday bag against the other guys in their carts with staff bags:)

Nothing against staff bags, I own at least a dozen of them in my man cave.

My man; if you don't see a point in a Sunday bag and how or why it works, that's fine. I really enjoy having a super lightweight, minimalist bag around for the reasons I already mentioned. I'm sorry you don't ever get to enjoy a golf experience where the Sunday bag shines!

Buy two sticks and make a stand.

Sunday’s bag is the best. I will never get another stand or cart bag. Why would you when you can do both with a Sunday bag. Taking it out of a car requires no effort. Lugging it around requires no effort.

I'll give you a point to doing something short of a full bag hoss. Take a Sunday bag, put you 8 iron, your 9 iron, your wedges and your putter and go play a par 3 course. Make a deal with yourself that you wont play a full round of golf until you shoot even par or better on the short course. You'll turn that 6 handicap into a zero pretty quickly.

I really love this idea.

FWIW I have a Jones bag and its 3.5 lbs lighter than my stand bag. If you put 10 or so clubs in it, now your 7 or 8 pounds lighter than a full normal bag. So much nicer in the winter to just grab this bag and go rather than using my Clic with the full bag.

thinking about joining... are there actually putters released as part of club cameron or is it usually just bags/headcovers other accessories?

Mainly just headcovers, clothing, accessories. There are bags released both stand and staff bags but only a few times a year at most.

that's what i was afraid was thinking about joining just for the fact that it might actually get me to pull the trigger on buying myself a scotty...

Been using a Jones original for years and just upgraded to the players series. Anyone with questions about a carry bag will find it much more enjoyable than using their stand/cart bag. Trust me you don't need everything you carry in the larger bags. Enjoy the walk.

I don't get the constant argument between stand bag and Sunday bag. Just like the white belt, or white pant threads. Who cares? Use what you want.

Scotty releases Tour Putters on Wednesdays via his gallery website. You don't need a membership just $2500 for his least expensive tour putter.

Was just looking at the gallery for the tour putters and was thinking, Aside from Stamps and special grips and weights, Hows the feel from

https://www.scottycameron.com/gallery-store/product.aspx?zpid=2522

Compared to this:

https://www.scottycameron.com/putters/select/newport-2/

?

Very curious if it is a softer feel or feels better than the one in store because it looks almost identical (except for the color and stamps and weights obviously).

That has a stainless steel insert instead of the aluminum one on the off-the-rack version. So you're paying for that plus all the cosmetic differences on the gallery model

Edit: it looks like the OTR version has a stainless steel insert too, so I doubt they feel any different.

Any insight into the shipping times? Will it really take the full 4-6 weeks that was quoted?

It's an average. Some will get it sooner and some will get it closer to week 6.

ordered the kit today and it says 8-10 weeks now...just an fyi who hasnt ordered and plans to.

I'd love to have one though as they do look so pretty.

I wonder how the GSS Insert ones feel or the 009's feel. Oh one can only wonder.

They feel good :)

IMO the best way to try them all is if you book a fitting at the gallery, you can try everything you'd like before you make a big purchase.
