You could take the money and use half of it for a great golf trip (think Pebble or something) - perhaps a not comparable but amazing golf experience. And use the rest for lighting cigars or pillow stuffing.

I'd take the money in a heartbeat but $24,000 would make a pretty big difference in my life, obviously not as big a deal for others though so the Augusta experience would make sense.

Can we all agree that if he decides to sit tight and go to the game then he should also schedule an appointment to get his head examined?

Edit - just kidding on that last part, I'd probably sell my house to buy superbowl tickets if the Bills ever get there, but still the other two options sound a lot better than a football game.

Your home is safe.

Had he intended on going to the game and these offers just came through, or did he get the tickets with the intention of flipping them? If he was planning on going, I think Georgia is much more likely to have another shot at a national championship than he would be to get another chance to play Augusta (maybe not?). Point being that if he got them for an "experience", I pick Augusta over the game every time.

If they were bought to flip then I think you take the cash.

Hope the Dawgs will have a chance at another natty, cause they have no chance at this one. Saban vs a true freshman QB. ‘Nuff said.

Alabama is garbage, no dawgs fan but they look much more polished as a team

If this person has the capability to get you on ANGC, could they do better than one year of badges? I might counter with 10 or 20 years of badges and no round, because I'd take a different friend or family member every year and give them the thrill of their lives.

One round of course is terrific, but it's fleeting. And at the great courses what you really want is TWO rounds, one for drooling and one for trying to shoot a respectable score. But you're not getting that.

At the end of the day, I'd go with what some others said and take the money to fund a great buddies trip.

I know three guys who would pay me $8,000 each to be in the foursome. With careful planning, you can have it all.

I love this. I've got about seven friends and family members who I'd consider taking but picking three would be torture. I'd tell them I'm selling out but then we're all taking a great trip together, on me.

I'm at the place in life where I'm torn. 24k is a lot of money for me still. It won't change my life one bit, but 24k is still a ton of money. It would pay off every last penny of debt that I have and that would be an awesome feeling. I'm also at a place where that's going to happen in the next year two anyways.

I've also stated that I'd pay 10k to play a round with my kids at Augusta. Probably more. Especially if I could take them and my dad.

I'd probably take the money because I'd feel like a selfish a-hole if I took the golf over that amount of money. That's tuition for kids, etc. I'd especially take the money if my wife knew I had a choice between the two. There'd be no option then.

Like I said I'm at that weird point in life that 24k is a lot of money, yet playing ANGC is a lot of experience. In a vacuum I'd take ANGC. Considering the rest of the families needs, I'd probably take the money. This is almost agonizing to consider though.

$24k doesn’t change anyone’s life.

That's where you're wrong Blanche.

Might change a year. Might even change 2 years depending on your situation. But I’m not wrong saying it’s not going to change your life. But we can agree to disagree on that.

Being debt free would open up alot of doors, believe me.

As much as I’d love to have 24k handed to me, I am of the “take the Augusta and sell the other 3 spots” crowd. Even if you don’t make 24k off the 3 slots, you’re gonna come out a winner because you got to play Augusta F*cking National! I visited Augusta and just standing outside near the sign was enough to give me goosebumps. I can’t imagine the feeling of playing the course. That experience is almost priceless.....almost.

Take the money and buy 1.67 bitcoins :russian_roulette:

Seriously though I don't know I could really enjoy Augusta. I would probably get all nervous playing there. And when I don't play well, I can get in a bad mood. Then I'll think, I just threw away $24k (or 50 rounds at Pebble Beach or a new car) just to play bad golf at a nice course.

That's where I'd be too. Tell me I've got a full day there, with a morning round to get all googly-eyed, a nice lunch followed by an afternoon round to settle down and try to break 90 (bwahahaha), then it's a much more attractive prop than a one-shot deal.

Though in the end I'm probably still taking the money.

I would chose Augusta. 24k can be made back over a period of time. However, you can’t make back the experience of playing at Augusta, with your closest friends, which you would also give them the experience of a lifetime as well. Four lifetime experiences shared together with close friends and family and pictures to prove it is worth more than 24k to me.

I’d pay a million to play with my dad at Augusta or have him walking alongside, but he is no longer around.

Something to consider. Just a thought.
