Sexy combo! Atoms great shaft! I can't really tell on my phone, did the Ping have better numbers except for dispersion? What Shaft was in the Ping?

 

 

I'm going to do a full write up when I have the chance but today was incredible. When I saw I had Perry, I was pumped just based on what others have said. That dude is a stud!

 

I haven't played much lately and was very rusty and tight. I was concerned I wouldn't have enough quality swings to get fit properly but managed to loosen up eventually and hit some good ones.

 

The screenshot on here was kind of in the middle of the fitting and we were still working on the head set up. Once that was done the M3 440 was about 322 vs the Ping 309 total distance. Low misses with the M3 were really good. I hit a bunch off the toe that felt terrible. Most stayed in play. The tech works.

 

This is a new shaft as well, so not apples.

 

I never hit anything ( driver ) other than the M3 440. I explain more about this later but Perry knows what he's doing.

 

BTW, this is the LAST head I thought I'd end up in.

Low misses with the M3 were really good. I hit a bunch of the toe that felt terrible. Most stayed in play. The tech works.

BTW, this is the LAST head I thought I'd end up in.

We got a full tour of the ball factory. (No pics allowed) It was fascinating to see how tight the tolerances have to be to have the balls perform the way they want. We were able to see the prototype manufacturing process that is all done in house. From mixing the core, to the injection molding, to the cover. Then we were able to see the testing facility. They have a machine that fires the balls down an indoor range. They can change the ballspeeds from 60-180mph. They are also able to adjust the spin rate that the machine launches the balls at. Then they have high speed cameras that capture the performance characteristics of the ball. It was amazing.

 

We got a sleeve of the custom balls they make for Rory, Day, DJ, and Rahm. What an awesome treat!

 

 

 

Any info about how the balls differ? Or is it primo top secret?

Like the other guys have said, I will do a full write up when we have more time and I can get into further detail, but wanted to get my build and some numbers up here.

 

I ended up with the M4 9.5 in a Tour AD DI BB 7x shaft. I had a weird experience during the long drive competition, I’ll get into that in my full review, and had to go back to confirm the fit and recommendations. It’ll be good to get it out on the course in real conditions.

 

Keep in mind the track numbers are averages. Especially the dispersion numbers. The Ping has a left and right miss to get to that average. The M4 was 1 way. Also, you can see the COR testing mark is a tiny red dot.

How's the new drivers sound? I liked how the 16 m2 was pretty muted, 17 m drivers were louder. Definitely interested in trying these out, they look great.

I found the M4 sound to be improved over the ‘17 M2. That includes both versions, K serial and not.

Stoked for you getting the call on this trip! Lotta good WRX'ers on this one. Was the Twist Face noticeably straighter on misses and overall? See you're playing the G400LST which is very straight in it's own right - wondering your initial thoughts comparing the two.

Heard the new M4 fairway is bigger than the current M2 Tour fairway which is a good thing.
