Morning Drive...What Happened?

Watching Morning Drive on a Saturday, and are my eyes deceiving me??? Are these dummies at Golf Channel so lazy they are using last week's background pic (from Pebble) to show the leaderboard at Riviera? That sure looks like #7 at Pebble and Stillwater Cove in the background, not any course in LA area. I guess to GC, it's all California.

Jaime is exactly what this show needs. The weekend crew has been doing a great job lately. I'm actually watching this show again.

I still think Adams likes the sound of his own voice a little too much but he can support a point of view without crossing the line.

These demands are potentially interfering with my pushing RDD "On the Range" segment! Well, that and RDD apparently having a chair that is way too comfortable, lol.

 

RDD - you seem to be almost Lietzke-like in your dedication to a somewhat permanent golf off season! Let's work on the WITB, fitting, shotmaking tips, the (what I assume is) wondrous range at Bay Hill! There is a course I'd love to play. Got to play the par 3 course at Arnie's Tradition (long story, won't bore you) and still have a pic somewhere of my daughter outside his house (he was at Bay Hill) - cool course, like stepping into an arboretum.

 

Anyway, we should vote to have GC put a metal card table chair in RDD's place and motivate him. ;-)

Damn, now I'm getting all misty-eyed and nostalgic. Here she is - she absolutely insisted we get a pic of her next to his trophy display at his restaurant. Arnie was a favorite of hers, still is in spirit.

I'd puke if I had to ever watch a Big Break again. Such phony side stories, a daytime soap opera, maybe. The first one was great, all that followed were horrible, maybe some good golf, but not frequent.

 

They would need sponsors, but so many great college tournaments could be rebroadcast during weeknights. The Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate is on-going. I believe there was is an event in TN as well.

I think some people would just like to see some of them replayed as opposed to Caddyshack or Bagger Vance when the GC has air time to fill. And some people (many I think, including myself) would like to see new ones. We all know it’s reality and a lot of stuff is staged, but you can’t argue that some good players have come though there. I do think production costs probably make any new ones unlikely.

The Caddy...starring Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. They were one of the most popular comedy duos of the 1950’s...All-Stars really.

 

Personally I never found their shtick funny...so yeah pretty disappointing programming IMO.

Yes, I have a to agree, better than those reruns, and if given another chance, I might like them. Should have put a little more thought into my post.
