!WOW! 1968-2017 masters final round coverage

For those of you interested in the odd coincidence, or evidence of alien life on earth, check out the 75 Masters where the woman behind the 16th tee is dressed in all pink, with the wild big poofy pink hat.

Then tune in to the 95 Final Round, on the 16th tee, with the woman dressed in all pink, with the big pink hat.

Coincidence? I think not. Seriously, could this be her daughter? Someone who saw her as a small child at the Masters and dedicated her life to recreating that awesome experience she had at the 75 Masters as a child?

What could explain those two visuals? I'm stumped, and awed.

Great post.

I knew they used to have black caddies but man is that weird to watch. That and they all just walked around smoking. Different game 30 years ago. Fun to watch.

The caddie situation is a little uncomfortable to be honest.

As much as I love the 70s, there are things that are MUCH better today.

And notice the non-caddies that were rushing in to fix the ball marks after both players had hit to the greens - watching the '75 the other night one of the guys walked right across Nicklaus' line. They were also in charge of bunker raking as well, looked to have a guy or two on each hole just assigned to do that. All the years I've watched had never noticed that before.

Sorry! I didn’t yet catch your post before I started in on mine below about the pitch mark repair guy trampling over Nicklaus’ line. I’m watching 68 right now.

Watching the 2010 version just to mourn what could have been for Anthony Kim's career.

Remember he birdied 11 holes in 2009 at Augusta, with no birdie at the par 5 second either. Silly stuff.

Jack Nicklaus in '98 seems amazing to me. Obviously Tom Watson went even closer to winning, but if you think that Jack was the youngest winner and oldest winner of the Masters at two different times he won it. Then he contends the Masters at 58.

It's like Tiger making a run at the leaderboard at the 2033 Masters and finishing ahead of the defending champion, a year after some wonderkid born in 2011 has just won by 12 shots. Amazing what golf can bring.

Just watched ‘86. Apparently jack won his 20th “major.”

When did they stop counting US Am a major?

Right about when Tiger won 3 of them.

Nope. When Phil won his they actually said and I quote “ maybe this experience will propel him to win his first major when he decides to turn pro” . It was right around the mid to late 60s the writers from that era were the only ones saying it. We will never see another 2 time or even 3 time winner because there is so much money waiting for these guys turning pro.

Let me put it in context for you. I was born in the south. I grew up in the south. I dated southern belles. And I'm still awed by those two arriving at the same spot, decades apart.

I got ya ...

The style of the 70 is something else. The hats are horrible, especially those Amana hats. And the mesh backs. They all look brand new, and the guys were wearing 'em like they didn't want to mess up their hair.

Check out 2009 the barrage of birdies and eagles from Phil and Tiger on the front was insane.

Oldest daughter and I were watching that on my phone at youngest daughter's piano recital, lol (not while she played!) - rushed home for back nine and oldest, who is huge Tiger fan, didn't have a great rest of the day.

That was a special day for sure. I'll have to watch it again. I thought for sure Phil was going to win that day. Turns out he won the next year.

For me, the most enduring memory of that 2009 Masters was the long standing ovation Phil and Tiger received as they walked from the 16th tee to the green. That brought tears to my eyes.

It was a roller coaster ride. You can see the greatness and respect those 2 champions garnered.

When Phil stuffed his approach on 15 to 4 feet Feherty was freaking out. He sensed something big was happening. If Phil makes that he goes to 11 under..

I really thought Phil was going to shoot a 63 and win it all. Even with the water ball at 12 to make double, he flushes it to 7 feet on 14 and then flushes it to 4 feet on 15 and misses both putts. Misses a tough 12 footer on 16 then misses a 5 footer on 17. He was on the cusp of something very special and I wish he pulled it off. Most impressive thing was how he was bombing it way past tiger all day. I love Cabrera and Perry but they wouldn’t have a chance in a playoff against Phil with that crowd support. Furyk also really dropped the ball that day. Had a chance to win and floundered it
