Tiger Woods Driver Driver Shaft Change in Preparation for Augusta

Recommended Posts

Sounds like that WORST ball 66 he shot a few years ago. I'm skeptical that Tiger Woods could hit 27 of 28 fairways with any club in the bag.

Lol hope this was a joke post, but just in case it was not.

1. he is Tiger Woods not a 30 hcp

2. It was practice

3. It was 27 of 28 not 100 of 100

What is so unbelivable?

4. Augusta has wide fairways and very minimal rough.

5. The course was probably running slower than it will be tournament time.

6. How many were 2 iron stingers?

If your 2 iron stinger went 270 I'd say that'd be a hell of a shot to fall back on.

Does Vegas have a line on Tiger using driver on #1 at Augusta and hitting the fairway with said driver?

I guarantee there will be a prop at atleast one book

That’s pretty funny. Someone is bound to make a few bucks.

No, it is my eBay name that I had since the early 2000's back when I had a 1997 Speedster Jet boat. I used to go by Tiburon on some other golf forums back in the day too.

Tiger should lay down 1 mill of his own $$$, go to the 1st tee and just bunt one down there.

Whatever, they can whine all they want, it would make for some fun chatter. For the record there are probably a lot of people on this board who think I am a Tiger hater. I am not. I am not a sycophant either. I think Tiger is great to watch, but probably a total jerk, as are a lot of famous athletes. Reading excerpts from this new biography only leads me to believe I underestimated his jerky-ness. That being said, I hope he is in contention...but I don't want him to win.

But in the end, it is just entertainment, if I ever had a chance to meet Tiger, or play golf with him I would jump at the chance. I know people with a personality like his, some are friends of mine, doesn't mean I hate them, just mean I probably don't spend as much time with them as some other people.

I can pure my driver 10 straight times by myself on the range. A machine. There is no doubt, I have finally mastered this game. Walk 50 feet to first tee. A hush falls upon the small group gathered to watch. Thin slice into woods.

This combined with your avatar definitely made me laugh. :D

Clearly the problem though is the 50ft walk, I would look in to a Segway or maybe one of those trampoline cannons that can launch you to the tee box.

I remember that site, if it’s the same one I am thinking about. Got a replacement Wilson Blue Ridge 5 Iron after an accident with a tree.

Early websites were very quirky.

It's gotta be the same one. I mean it was the only one. The buy-sell-trade part of golfwrx in its most embryonic, text-only form. Good times. I still remember my best score. A set of satin Ram Watson Grind 276s with X100s and GP Pro Only full cord grips. Still kick myself for letting those go after a year or so, but I was more of a Hogan guy back then. It's been at least 20 years and I still haven't seen another set exactly like that one surface.

He almost never hits it in the first round.

I wouldn't be surprised if he really does hit the Pro Orange straighter. It is the same profile as the Pro White, but counterbalanced. I game a Pro White 70TX, and I have hit the Orange as well. They are almost identical except the Orange feels a bit lighter. Both are less harsh than the traditional white board due to the better materials.I bet he doesn't miss a fairway all week long.

Maybe? I want to say it was a shorter name than that? Maybe just golfweb? I really can't recall. Driving me batty that I can't remember the address, but can clearly remember what it looked like and how it worked.

A guy I follow on twitter just tweeted out that sportsbook dot ag has a miss first fairway prop at +130. Pretty decent value there, I imagine that will get hit pretty quickly

Someone correct me if I'm mistaken, but wasn't he making such a big deal about how one of his recent shaft changes a couple/few weeks ago (Honda?) was letting him go after it with more confidence? What's that make, his fourth since the Genesis. All that incredible ball and swing speed, etc one week, now gone.

Suddenly big Orange is gonna cure his recent woes.

Sounds a bit capricious and fodder for the rubes and fanboys.

That said, if any one of you tiger zealots are interested in betting based on the Orange, I'd love to hear from you.

Ah, the old ad hominem (look it up, pal.)

"We'? "Negative Engery". "I need to find happiness"?

Well, can't argue with that. Guess I was wrong.

Hey Scratch, I encourage you to engage me further in this. You'll look even more foolish. Please do.

While I didn't give the White a thorough testing , I found the White and Orange feel/play very differently. We added a 3 gram tip weight to the Orange, just to get some of the weight back. The Orange has been one of my favorite shafts; long, low spin, tight dispersion, and feels great. For some reason, I hit the White all over the place. Even though the shaft profile shows that the Orange has a softer butt, it certainly didn't feel that way to me.
