If he chooses to spend money on that stuff, more power to him. I started buying nice things pretty much as soon as I picked up the sport.. everyone's gotta start somewhere. For all you know, he's spending just as much on lessons.

I have no room to talk or chirp here.

 

I buy nice golf clothing and equipment each year.

 

I only have one hobby. I don't drink or go to bars at all. Don't do yoga retreats, or camping or buy skidoos and boats.

 

In all honesty my wife has it better than most with what I spend on golf. I've never come home with a 30 thousand dollar quad or a Harley.

Attitudes like this crack me up.

 

Maybe spending money on clothing, or equipment, or a nice course, or lessons, or whatever isnt an either / or proposition for this guy. Maybe whether he spend $10k, or $20k or $50k a year on golf doesn’t really move the needle for him.

 

Just because someone is a beginner or doesn’t have a lot of talent for the game doesn’t mean they have to dress like a slob or play crappy equipment.

 

Calling someone out for wearing nice clothes and having expensive equipment says more about the person doing the calling out than it does about the guy out there enjoying his nice stuff.

Wait? What? A loser? I've dropped $30 on a hat. Kangol, Tropic Ventair Ivy Leaguer. Guess I'm a double loser. Dropped the coinage AND appearing the poser. But have a tendency to wear it backwards. Thereby mitigating some of the posing. Or does that qualify as being a triple loser? IDK. Whatever.

I get that a lot, and I rarely shoot under 85.

 

Little does everyone know, I get all my Nike stuff at the clearance store for $10 a piece, which is less than your walmart stuff. So...ha!

 

I'm not aspiring to go pro. I'm just out there to play relatively well and have fun, enjoy the day, and wear comfortable/good quality stuff.
