Heads could be shipped to you. Not sure what that cost would be?

standard Shipping to Australia is USD $60 for up to 6lbs  ( max 9-10 heads) by fedex - very fast,  usually 1 week.

Love the look of the TS2.  Makes me wish there was a Golfworks in Australia.

There is a golfworks in australia, who are an importer/distributor of many OEM brands, to be honest, be thankful there isnt a seller here, otherwise you would be paying a lot more.  Whilst Golfworks will discount to a reseller, its nowhere near enough to match GW pricing.

You also might be able to share in a bulk buy with other Maltby fans,  me included.  I got itchy fingers now, but will probably wait until new models are released.    Ask me or keep an eye out on Ozgolf forums.

bear in mind must keep the order under AUD$1000 inc shipping otherwise we get hit with 10% GST plus about $150 customs fees.

Yeah they sell like Cougar and Powerbuilt stuff. (Should buy Cougar golf and specialise in clubs for the older single lady).

Would like to do some club building, think it would be a fun hobby, but the access to parts and components is minimal here.  Best bet would be to buy used clubs and recomponent them.  I miss Ben's Golfcomponents.com.au.  I was too poor at the time to give it a go.  Cheap iron shafts in particular are like looking for a Bunyip atm.

Would probably buy some PTM heads if they were available.

Not sure if this is against forum rules but here goes.

Have a set of black ptms (4 thru gw) mated with maltby mpf stiff shafts. As the shafts are too stiff for this old man, I looked into having GW do a reshaft (same shaft in reg flex). Cost was $375 - more than I want to spend.

Anyhoo, would be willing to entertain trades (same head preferably ) with reg graphite shafts. Would consider the chrome version as well.

Any interest?

@Popeye64 This may have been answered already but any chance of new Maltby+ wedges coming in DBM finish?  And of course TS3 which I believe you said they were possibly testing but nothing set in stone yet

Nothing has been confirmed but they have been testing it when they can from what I understand. The process acts differently to each metal combination. So it's total hit or miss.

I will say I've been a huge fan of DBM and the new DRM. Hopefully it's an option at some point. Love how nearly indestructible my PTM black heads are, yet still have great feel.

I have used my DBM wedges a decent amount but never bought extras like I should have so now it is a waiting game to see what they do or go back to silver wedges.  I'm not fond of paying $170 a wedge from some of the other companies

The M Series + in DBM were my go to wedge as the worked in any and I mean any conditions. As the supply dried up I switched to the TSW DRM which is a blend in designs between a Tour MG and an MSeries +. Still prefered the M Series +. The new Max should play a lot like the M Series + in near every way. Just fewer sole choices. So I know there won't ever be a DBM again as they can't be tweaked. But I'm holding out hope for the DRM finish.

Hi All.  Looking for your thoughts on some iron heads and shafts.  My gamers are TS2 shafted in AMT Tour White Stiff.  I also have a set of TS1 heads and ProModus3 105 S shafts.

I shafted the 7-iron TS1 in one of the 105S and am hitting the same carry distance as the TS2 7 iron, despite the 2 degree higher loft of the TS1.  Slightly lower trajectory as well but can't tell if that's more due to the head, the shaft or both.

I'm thinking of switching the 7-iron heads to try them in the other shafts to make a final decision.  Final tiebreaker would be the cosmetics of the TS1, but if I find even more distance with the TS2 in the ProModus3 shaft, I'll take it and slight bit of additional forgiveness the TS2 provides.

Any thoughts or observations?  6-iron swing speed is 82-84 mph.  Driver is 93-95mph.

My guess is the lower flight of the TS-1 is due to the shaft. The VCOG for the TS-2 is 0.796 and the TS-1 is 0.750.  I’m no expert though.

anyone figured out what the DBM/DRM finish is?     I have been curious if we could get it done ourselves, for example buy some heads,  bend 'em,  then "paint 'em black"

I know its not black oxide treatment,  which has a similar characteristic,  is cheap, can be done at home, but wears off easily.  Some of the other OEMS that have made black heads have either admitted its black oxide or it obviously is.  (cant remember which ones)

its obvious that its an existing technology, otherwise they would have patented it.

so hunting around, i think they are using Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) process.  some of the technical documents I found online match up with the descriptions Golfworks give,  like its hardness rating and thickness,   20um i recall.     There seems to be a few different ways to do the DLC, but disappointingly it seems that it cant be done in the backyard shed, and is probably out of the price range for small scale work.   Most companies I have seen providing this service are for very large industrial productions.  I have sent one company an email,  but as expected they didnt reply.

Has anyone stripped the finish off of the DRM wedges?

Somewhere on the internet this has been done. The DBM finish on whatever head they had was removed from the head by I think a solution of vinegar.

It's been a while since I have seen it... But I think it took a few days.
