The amount of flagged emails/items I've been able to tackle in two days has been great, my usual work day is full of distractions. Even though I'm bored out of my mind right now it's refreshing to see people realize that we don't need to have 8000 meetings, pre-meetings, and sidebar calls all day to get work done.

Regarding the decision to play it down in bunkers:

Sunday I had a good round going at Worthington. #13 is the par 5 and it's a strategic tee shot. The bunkers on the left of the fairway are the perfect distance to make you decide on trying to carry or not. I tried to carry and my ball plugged into the face of one of them. Took me two to get out of the bunker, and I ended up making an 8. If we're playing smooth your lies, I pull that plugged ball out and let it roll to the bottom of the bunker, have no issues, and save myself a couple of strokes. Under no circumstances is that fair to the field.

1) even if the bunkers don't have rakes, most people will get a fine lie in a bunker. The course will probably rake them overnight, so you need to get in a bunker that people have already been in, be in the same spot they were in and have them not smooth out their footprints (which people should do).

2) even in bunkers with rakes, sometimes people don't rake and if you get in an unraked lie in a bunker that has an expectation of being raked, that's much more unfair than getting a bad lie in a bunker with no rakes.

3) even in bunkers with rakes you can get horrible lies like fried eggs and bad stances.

4) Most people's bunker games I've seen it doesn't matter if it's teed up or in a footprint. . .like 90% of the time, they get down in 3. 5% of the time they get down in 2. 5% of the time they get down in 4+.

Go ahead an send me out last and I'll invite the group in front of me to stomp through the bunkers like it's your own private sandbox.

If this materially affects the outcome of the event, I will kiss Tom Hanks on the lips.

My course has actually been doing something like raking with thick tines and the ball sits down a little in the grooves. It's trickier, but wha ev.

It's unfair to people who are better at playing plugged lies in bunkers.

If we made every putt inside the flagstick "good", it doesn't shaft anyone, but I hope good putters would protest that decision.

It's actually not unfair to those people either. It would level the playing field. it's the "equitable" thing to do, you take from those that have an advantage and give it to others

And yes, it makes me want to puke every time I hear or read the word "equity"

And City you're the only guy in the HIVE practicing plug lies considering it offers little to no advantage over the course of a season

One less person to chat with during the day...

I've worked back to back 14 hour days which is just crushing, I dont know how people work these kinds of hours on the regular.

Our team will be going to a one week onsite / one week telework shift arrangement. It actually should work out pretty decent. Could work 60 hours a week in the office and then have minimal hours to makeup in my telework week which would be sweet. Subject to change at any minute though.

Club fully closed the restaurant and grill areas yesterday - golf stuff stays open.

Sorry was that a question? 138 (-2) was the winning score, we had it to -3 before taking three bogies on the last two holes and finishing at 140 (E)

i think this year when people post about rounds we should steal from scott van pelt and do something like "three good things". so often we poo poo ourselves. I know I do. let's talk about, and therefore think about, the GOOD stuff we did. so many different kinds of things can apply too. I'll give some examples

2MT TGT!!!:

I had some real mental discipline in several spots yesterday. I was not a scardy cat with my aim point on drive on the 2nd hole. I aimed slightly left of the right pin on 4. center of the green baby. i played my pitch on 9 with a 54. None of that means anything to you guys but that's three examples of me making the "correct" decision. It's a combination of discipline and no fear. I like it.

on the 12th hole i was in trouble off the tee. My mega hook recovery shot was actually quite good but did not work out well at all. i went about 30 yards over the green. i was 5 inches off a cart part on hard pan. Pin is way back so I have no green to work with. I hit this mega nippy perfect pitch that insta grabbed on the green and left me with a four footer. That shot was SICK.

It was the kind of day where it's easy to get frustrated. i just kept grinding waiting for something good to happen. 0 pout. 17th hole is 198 and we were into a breeze. I flushed a 4 hybrid to 5 feet. after missing everything all day i was like i'm just confidently rolling this in. perfect putt. birdie. that also squared my match after being 3 down after 12. I love it.
