My kids have friends who spends hundreds each month... hundreds... getting perms so they can maintain the broccoli patch.

I guess paying money to look messier is the kid equivalent of adults paying premiums for designer pre-ripped jeans, rustic/barn/cottage furniture, etc.

I may or may not have such a dining table...

I only recently learned that the hairstyle required a perm. I guess that makes me a Boomer or something. Although I did rock the flat top for many years as a young G.

MDWRXers, any suggestions for good local spots around Cambridge MD for food? Preferably non-biker bars.

Looking to head down there for Labor Day weekend - I've always wanted to spend a couple days exploring Blackwater.

I live about 20 minutes from the Hyatt at Cambridge.  Only places that I really know people talk about is Snappers.  Had good food.  Another place is Bombay Social.

Can't think of anything else, but will post if I hear of anything else.

Thanks. Blackwater Bakery was recommended too, and the last time I went Ocean Odyssey was good for crabs, if I recall correctly.

Cambridge is tough. The last time I went there we had a great dinner at Bistro Poplar but they're not open anymore.

You may have better luck heading up ~10 miles to Easton or driving an extra few minutes into St Michaels.

Laurel Hill in ok shape today, but most greens were slow and several  fairways pretty waterlogged.

Real fun day out there. Even from 6400 yards, LH plays pretty damn long when its as wet as it was.

But yeah the greens have seen better days.

Played Pleasant Valley this morning. Fairways through greens generally in good shape but tees are still terrible. You can see some problem areas around but it is a lot better than in recent years. Heard they have a super who is committed to getting things turned around though. The greens were rolling nicely despite yesterdays weather. I still wouldn't pay their full rates, but it's ok for discounted weekday, off peak rates lol. Forgot how tough some of those holes are.

Birdwood in Charlottesville. Frickin awesome course.

Held it together as best I could despite the sh*nks and duck hooking short irons 😅

Thousand Acres Golf Club at Deep Creek ... get there if you can it is pristine right now & it's always 10-15 cooler there

I’ve played there close to 50 times. The new back 9 is a banger! I played a few weeks ago in some strong breeze. Pin locations were nasty. I think it stretches out to like 7200 now if you tip it out.

Happy to see the place doing well. They’re in the process of going private-it used to be the low key spot where you could easily get out, loop around, and have a few in the process.

The scenery is great at Lodestone but the course is plunked on top of lots of water sources. 1000A was always the closest option since my in-laws' place is in Swanton.

Have you ever play Cumberland Country Club on the way out? It's super quirky with tiny greens. Not always in great shape but tremendous fun.

Yea it's insane how much water Lodestone sits on ... always soggy on the top of a hill

I play Ccc & the Gap a ton

Ccc got a new pro & super so it's making a comeback

Gaps greens n fairways are great but maintenance for traps took a hit bc of the change in ownership & drainage issues after 20 years

We are doing a "kick in the nuts" day of golf in GarCo ... 36 - lodestone Am 1000a pm then drinks (maybe dinner) somewhere late ... Can't wait

Had another two hour lesson yesterday with Erika out at Creighton Farms. They have an awesome new indoor facility that hits out onto the range - and we were working so hard on something that we never made it out on the course.

If you're in the Northern Virginia area, I cant recommend her enough. She's so great at taking something that might be really complex and making it super simple to understand. If you're looking to find the cheapest coach around though, she isnt it.

Now that she's become so popular, for various reasons, she can charge what she wants & people will still pay it
