Now that she's become so popular, for various reasons, she can charge what she wants & people will still pay it

She's less expensive than the guys at Eisman and a much better coach. Those guys got so popular they just jacked their rates to the moon. Good dudes but GD.

Is there anyone in the 'staff' level at Eisman you have experience with or would recommend? It is now really close for me and if there is a good option there, it would be a dream. thanks!

I dont sorry. Wonsuk is a great dude but I think he's around $250 now and Jon is $300. Both are great instructors and the truth is - they are 5 minutes from my office.

My experience has been that their teaching styles lean very heavily on the highly technical stuff now - IE using the weight/shift plates for just about everything. And I think their IG posts would bear this out. Its a lot of "hey we've moved him from a 62% weight shift to a 71% weight shift". Stuff like that. And look - if thats the way you learn or the stuff you want to work on then have at it. It just wasnt for me.

Which is not to say its bad, I think people learn best in very different ways.

Awesome, thanks for the response! That is good info and definitely agree what they put out there on social pushes all the gadgets in the 'performance lab'. And the top tier prices are never going to be an option for me, so was considering one of the other instructors in that price tier below. I might still give them a chance and see, convenience being a big driver. Worth a shot anyway. Thanks again!

So just another option but Virginia Golf Center has a really good staff as well. I worked with Fernando years ago when he was at the facility before it was TopGolf in Alexandria.

Virginia Golf Center - Raspberry Golf Academy | PGA Lessons & Instruction

When I worked out that way I always thought VGC had a really underrated facility.

I took a few lessons at Eisman and really enjoyed them and learned a lot. But as they got more popular, I actually had a difficult time getting lessons scheduled. Some of that may be Covid  related.

In the end, I think @dcmidnight said it best, its important to find an instructor who your learning style aligns with.

Had not heard of them but will certainly give them a look. Also pretty easy for me to get to, just need to figure out what i am looking for and fire! Appreciate all the insight

Spanky at Oak Marr

Has been my instructor for 5 years or so. Has continue to cut my handicap by chunks.

Nothing fancy, works with your swing but gets you in the positions that you “can” get to that will help your game.

Has flight-scope if you need numbers and uses video, etc

Way less than a car payment 🤣

+1 for VGC.

This place is nice, they have Top Tracer (most work ok) in the bays, it has a lot of covered bays and heat,  and in general the place could use some updates and paint. But we practice here as it’s close to the house and my kid’s instructor is there, Josh Apple. Very good coach, I’ve had a few lessons with him also.

As @dcmidnight pointed out the golf instruction management is through Raspberry Falls Golf Academy. They have 3 facilities- VGC, Raspberry Falls, and Bull Run. The instructors location varies on some days of the week.

So you just roll over there and be like "I'm here for my session with Spanky... "

J/k. Always glad to hear that there are good options close by. Both Oak Marr and VGC are within 5 miles.

In other news, I went to Pinecrest today to use the Trackman and haven't shaken the sh*nks yet.

I can hit solid shots if I swing with my feet together, step up and pretend it's tee ball, or something else mindless, but as soon as I take a proper stance, align, etc. half the time it's a hosel rocket. Pretty good indication that my mental state is so bad right now.

MSGA or VSGA, all else equal? Live in DC, work in VA. But looks like more of the MD events are within range.

Looking to play some seriously competitive golf to get my juices flowing again.

All the same but depends on the courses you want to play along the way.

Also there is a group of us that host “competitive” rounds sporadically throughout the year. Dm and Il send you the link

MD National was a treat. $45 aeration rate with cart. Green speeds were inconsistent, but generally healed. Didn't love the layout... as someone more famous than me once said, Arthur Hills can really design a cart path... and found the design too "tricked up" to be a regular stop in my journey. But plenty of variety, risk and reward opportunity, and couldn't ask for any better than mid 70s in August.

Unfortunate ball striking day including 4 balls into the hazards and 2 OB left me with an unsettling 88.

There's work to be done... "Path to scratch" post will be coming soon in the Instruction tab, with plenty of stream of consciousness as I melt in to the sea of swing thoughts.

MD National has nice scenery and is usually in good shape. Of all the Arthur Hills courses I've played, it's by far the weirdest. Defintely not a fan of the closing stretch on that layout.
