Haven't seen any of the reviews, nor do I care to. Nothing I've seen from TM today has made me not interested in it. M5 will still be in my shootout in a couple months, and if it performs, cool. If not, I'll go with something else.

not here to bash, i am one that actually likes the look of it. I am just questioning the numbers that have been posted. as i would expect anyone to question numbers that I post. if they are real, they are real. some of them do not make sense though.

 

I think it's healthy to question numbers and open the debate about what is really true information. The numbers I posted though are off the Trackman 20 seconds after I hit the shot with a M5 Tour head. I saw real gains with the new driver and ball and I wanted to share my fitting story. I think it would benefit everyone to schedule a fitting for these and see if they see the benefits. From what I watched that day, I think a lot of people will also see gains compared to their current setup.

I love how TM is marketing it as “speed injected” when the purpose is actually to reduce speed as they claim the face is too hot and the RZN helps slow the face down to under legal limits.

I don’t know what everyone is expecting...Taylormade as well as all of the companies have to try to market their products as if there are huge innovations. Don’t expect them not to. Truth is, most of us will probably hit a driver from 6-10 years ago just as well as our current gamer. I’m in the minority of those on here that like TwistFace, and I’ll probably buy a M5 Driver, 3 wood, and 5 wood. Not because I think they’ll make a huge difference, but bc I like the new stuff

M6 looks ok, but the M5 is hideous. They couldn’t have made it look cheaper if they tried. The edge of the carbon fibre on the sole looks like it was cut by someone on work experience.

 

I thought the same thing! The Cortex looks way more premium than either of these!

all marketing hype. every company is sooo close to the legal limit already that moving .00000000000000000000000001% closer will not make a noticeable difference in ball speed.

 

Lol. But they have someone on here claiming 10 mph now and 1.55 smash. I'm flabbergasted that nobody else saw that post.

 

Trackman is probably under-reporting clubhead speed. Common issue.

I was just about to write this. Trackman is not good at club head speed. I'm a club fitter and we do not even show swing speed to people because of this mysterious 1.55 smash factor that is causing madness. Ball speed to ball speed.

I thought the max that smash factor could possibly be is 1.50..... correct or not??
