Wie had played decently in 2017 and 2018 (won HSBC). She seemed focused coming back this year, but with the injury again and personal life changes who knows what we'll see on the golf course from her going forward.

Mine or the one I replied to? She was off to a very good start last year, got injured... tried to play through it with lousy results, then shut it down.

 

I have never seen the fascination with the constant harping by some on Woods and Wie in particular. I get the idea that they are public figures but damn, they get slammed for being human.

Playing decent? If finishing 64,51,23,28,71,55,35,54,12 and missing 8 cuts is in 2018 is decent then yeah, she`s playing decent I guess. Her scoring average is a 75 this year..

I read that to mean that she was still playing decent from 2010 to 2014 even though she was declining during that time since he said it's been straight downhill since 2015. All of which seems pretty accurate.

That's actually not true. Over the last 30 yrs divorce rates have actually been declining with a much more rapid decline over the last 5-6. Millennials are being "blamed" for this too mostly because they are waiting longer to both get married and have kids as they set up their careers first.

 

OK...happily 50% of all marriage end in divorce. It has to be true, I read it on the internet.

Yeah, it seems like unless you are a) one of the all-time greats (and care primarily about golf) or b) someone with nothing else to do, around this age is where it will end for most.

 

I guess Christie Kerr has played pretty well past 30, although her kids didn't come until later (and the situation is a slightly different). Karrie Webb also played well past 30, although she doens't have kids and is more like bucket a) above.

I appreciate that on a discussion board where the purpose is to post your opinion and even, OMG, have fun with things, you can be the voice of reason who knows when someone should get married and clearly know of their intentions to build a family based on your expert opinion knowledge.

 

Glad to see that Ms. Wie got into a school where her scholarship was earned based on athletic proclivity coupled with educational acumen, and her crew didn't need to buy her way in.
