One request I have is to clean up the top of the Tour Talk section. When I open it, I get the LPGA stuff, then we get a sub section for something that hasn't been used in 7 years, Past Contests, and Industry Chat. Those should probably be dumped some where else. I have to scroll down quite a bit just to try and find the recent PGA Tour Talk thread.

Any word on getting emails for new classified listings? I'm guessing that's in the works, but I haven't seen if it's been talked about before.

 

Also, it seems like the character length for a classified listing title has been greatly reduced. I liked being able to list every item I had in my classified listing, now I can only get 4-5 items in the title. Will that be changed back to what it was previously?

an alternative for iPhone users to darken the screen. settings > general > accessibility > accessibility shortcut and select "smart invert". then triple click the sleep/wake button quickly and select if you have multiple selections.

How do we go about editing signature font type and size? I try to edit mine and it comes out very bold and spaced out. I have tried copying it from other sources but the format changes once it posts in the signature box... I see others have figured it out.

I've also noticed that the recent layout change to full screen has caused loading times to skyrocket

EDIT: After testing in Chrome, site is just loading slow via Safari.

EDIT x2: Adblock Plus in safari was causing the slow loading time issues.

Load times are lightning fast. It’s topic dependent. There currently is no resizing of uploaded pics. In order to make it easier for users to create posts, the upload limits are not in place. So if someone post unresized photos, you are seeing full Rez. If you have a fast connection, then it’s not an issue.

How come on some threads you can page jump from page 1 to 1,000,000 and in other threads you have to go 1 page at a time?

I mentioned this in another thread and was told that color was not high priority.

 

" Color is a theme issue and not really the highest priority. That would be considered a request and examples requested for global consideration“.

Vivaldi 2.4, which runs on Chromium but with a better skin and lighter footprint.

 

I deal with this stuff professionally, and trust me, this is a total mess. Some eager beaver telling everyone to use Control +/- to change their display size isn't going to fix the underlying code issues. This one page I'm looking at right now as I type this is pulling 20 different CSSs. Twenty! That's pure garbage, and that's the nuts and bolts reason why different users are having vastly different experiences. Five is too many, and I'd be happy to argue that TWO is one too many for that matter. 20 is just obscene, and speaks to all the workaround hacks that they're trying to implement to make this site display/function half way decently on the fly. Good luck to them, but trying to reconcile 20 different CSS running all at once is a fool's errand. Users shouldn't have different experiences across browsers/platforms but with the way this site is currently coded it's bound to happen.

 

I've been online since the late 80s and while I wish the golfwrx dot com guys the best I've seen better communities disappear over lesser sins. I lurked here for at least a year before officially joining in 2008 so this isn't the first change I've seen around here, but this is really really really bad. Sorry to sound negative about things, but this is the feedback they need to hear, not 'it looks way better than it did a week ago! wooohoo!!!' Whoever sold them on this obviously blew a bunch of smoke, and now the owners are dealing with the fallout. I wish them luck, but this is obviously a very very flawed product in its current state, and the coding behind it says it isn't going to get much better. Heck, what are we at right now? The three week mark? It's really hard to understate how badly this has gone, and how fundamental the problems are. Three weeks should be more than enough time to shake things out, but that's not going to be the case if your code is garbage from the get go.

 

Seriously. 20 different CSSs running all at once. SMDH, as the kids say.

UPDATE 4/5/19 (08:02 pm est):

Skin changes continued today both on mobile and desktop. Advanced members and members were combined inadvertently. Can't reverse right now. Mobile menu short term adds and new nav is staged waiting to be deployed. Read and not read is highlighted by bold and not bold like the old site now. The "new" blue button is leaving any hour. BST feedback and my content still being worked on. Advanced search is now on by default by clicking the magnifying glass. We can search by member and more. Much more to come every day and week.

FWIW, the original answer I gave Kyle was on the assumption, based on his question, that he was looking at a forum listing. Assuming I made the correct assumption my answer was correct. He made no mention of Notifications. You brought the notifications into it.

 

But as for the notifications, in Chrome, mine are working the same as radiman's. I click on the bolded notification and get taken to THAT post, not the last one in that thread. I expect the different browser is the issue,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

You're referring to the topic in the light blue banner, yes ? THAT "announcement" is a simple board LINK to the beginning of THAT topic. It doesn't work the same as a Forum listing of topics.

 

If you clicked on "Forums" (at the top), scrolled down and clicked on the "Website Help, News & Feedback" forum, then found the "pinned" "(Update) Announcement" topic itself and clicked on the bolded title, you should be taken to the first unread post in the topic.

I'm on a desktop and I see this on the top of every page (except the first where pages are at the bottom). Do you not see the same navigation ?
