In the past I always liked the Pro V1X >>>> Pro V1. Since 2017 it is reversed and I like the Pro V1 better. For me, it seems lower spinning from 50 yds and beyond. Around the greens I find it better than X.

X should give higher trajectory. I would base it on that, to me they both spin very similar.

I went and did a ball fitting at PGA SS and found that the X did give a higher trajectory and the X spun more with my higher lofted clubs for me which is what I was looking for. It also did not sacrifice distance with the driver as apposed to the V1

For me, V spins less off driver and longer clubs when compared to X.

Also, for me, V gives me more green side spin when compared to X.

So, for me, V is the king of all balls for my game.

Played my first round with the ProV1x yesterday. I may be sticking with it. Really good ball flight on long irons and great spin on the short clubs. Doesn't feel too clicky off the putter face. I was really surprised at the distance, normally Titleist balls for me are not as long as TP5/5x but the '19 ProV1x is long if not longer. great ball

Pro v1x is longer and gives better green side control for me. The pro v1 spins less but just doesn’t seem to give me the same distance.

Two rounds in with the '19 ProV1x and the ball jumps off the face of the driver. Awesome short game spin and the long irons seems perfect. One thing I do notice about this ball too is that it feels great off of the face when chipping and putting.

To me, V is noticeably softer off the putter than X.

Agree the V feels softer to me. That noted I thought Titleist said both balls are very very close on spin rates and the "real world" difference in launch and a bit a of feel..

Titleist tout lower trajectory and softer feel (for Pro V1) as the two main differences. But they also characterise Pro V1 as having "very low long game spin" versus "low long game spin" for Pro V1x.

Users often report slightly higher short-game spin with Pro V1x but Titleist no longer seem to feature that in their marketing copy.

Same here I played ProV1x for years and without knowing they changed the balls (didn't follow things much at the time) I began wondering why I was hitting such ridiculous moon balls and spinning it back around the earth. Still prefer the look of the dimples and the feel of the ProV1x I just can't play it with the trajectory and spin being insane. Now play AVX but throw in the ProV here and there. Don't love the look of the AVX but the performance is there.

I really like the ball flight on the V1x, but like the V1 in all other aspects. I just picked up a dozen AVX and really not sure what to think yet. Need some more rounds with them. Not sure I see anything that makes everyone think its so amazing. Have been playing the TP models lately on ball testing and those are as good as anything.

I’m struggling with which one to stick with. I have played with both and like both. What i crave most now is driver distance (I know we all do). My irons are high and spin is high. I fear my driver spin is to high. I wonder If i switched from ProV1x to ProV1 is pick up some distance with less spin?

I always prefer a softer ball, but both feel fine to me, honestly. I like the yellow ones as they seem more durable to me.

I just can’t figure out if one gives me any advantage over the other.

  • 1 year later...

Resurrecting this thread. I just bought 3 dozen new 2019 V1 at 26% off, and I think it‘s a great deal.
Whatever the 2021 model does better, I don’t wanna hear about it 😁

For the Europeans among us, Golfonline in the UK are selling the 2019 V1 and V1x for a great price.

Looking forward to playing these, I‘ve played Vice Pro for a while now, which are roughly the same price here, and loved them. I figured you can’t go wrong with the benchmark ball, bought the Pro V1, so now I’ll be able to compare them.

To me the previous ProV models greatest difference was feel followed by trajectory (ProV1 has slightly lower flight).  The X tends to have a bit more distance and spin separation (less on long clubs, more on short clubs). The spin difference tends to be minimal however - about 100 to 200 rpm difference at each end.
