I think the clear difference between balls and putter is that golfers of all levels were willing to buy the balls because they were so cheap and they got so much buzz. Except for very serious players, most balls are interchangeable. But more importantly, they went viral and people started buying just because they were in such demand. Paying $15/doz vs $50? “Pro V quality for a third the price!” Plus, balls get lost. Putters dont. No one is buying 4 putters. But people would buy 20 dozen balls without batting an eye.

Lastly, it’s still over $100. Joe Golfer doesn’t clamor for a $130 putter. If you could have created the buzz that this is a Scotty, maybe that price is attractive. The balls were at a price they could compete with top flite at the cheap end and Titleist at the quality end. Even I, as a reformed ho, would be all over this thing at $79, just for kicks. I think $130 is a number I have to think more than twice about.

I was looking at the weight kits and the weight online are different than stated in the Golfwrx article.

The kit contains 2 - 15g and 2 -20g weights. That makes a lot more sense, as the stock putter is 340 and you can get to 350 and 360 with the weights. Must have just missed it on the specs. And the price was off as well.

They are likely to come back in stock. A 340 gram head isn't too bad regardless. Same as the well respected Redwood Anser.

There are two KS1 putters on ebay setting up to end soon, and both selling for far more than list price. The question is how long will these last direct from costco.com? What's the over-under on the # of days before sell out?

One reason you pay more is for the name...unfortunately, I'm a brand whore...tried the KS balls, and every time I looked down at the logo is felt off...feel the same way about fugazi watches or luxury goods...wish it weren't that way, but it's hard to change the way you feel about these things.

I'd much rather buy a used name brand putter for the same price...get a new grip.

As for the bids on ebay....I would say it means very little. They could be shill bids for all you know. I sell occasionally on ebay/amazon when I have something I need to get rid of....it doesn't take many buyers to drive up the price, but it doesn't represent the overall market.

I think the bids on ebay are likely real. We sometimes forget that not everyone has access to the wrx golf news service that gives us instantaneous updates on what stores have the putter, whether it is available online, etc...Most people don't have a costco nearby that has them in stock and haven't checked whether it is available online...I doubt online stock will last more than a day or two, but there will be more. I may order one just to try it. I doubt I'll lose a lot of money if I end up selling it quickly. Different style putter for me, I normally use scotty laguna type putters.
