I agree. If nothing else it would speed up play a bit. Heck, they have those books that basically dissect the green for them, why not allow them to use a laser for yardages instead of having to walk them off?

It's not like they won't figure out the yardage anyway. But without the lasers, they will take forever walking it off and checking their books when they could just use a laser and have the same information in a few seconds.

I agree on shorts and rangefinders. The latter being better, faster than hyper-detailed yardage books, and certainly no less an "artificial aid".

But this is WRX, and there's a definite contingent stuck in the mud, but they use the word "traditional". So, there will be no agreement. Ever.

Go one step further and why not just have the tour traingulate the true yardage (including elevation's impact) for them and beam it down to the roving official walking with the group? Just give them the yardage and save the time of pulling the rangefinder.

There were a couple times where one of the commentators asked him a question and he acted like he didn't hear them. It looked like he had his earpiece in. I remember Amanda specifically asked him something and he didnt acknowledge it at all, either didn't hear her or totally ignored it.

It is because the parsec is a unit of distance that the Kessel Run can be made in less than 12 parsecs. Of course, according to the movie it was less than 13. Anyway, as a unit of time, relativity comes into play and being close to the gravitational effects of the maw cluster would redshift the Millennium Falcon, making it slower to an outside observer, and taking more time.

But, yeah that match was great to watch. My wife is a Manning fan and she watched the whole thing with me. Brady's hole out for birdie was crazy. Manning was great but I have to say it, he swings like he throws a football, UGLY! I never figured out how he was so good as a quarter back with how many wounded ducks he throws. Tiger, awesome! I think he hit every fairway, there was one I wasn't sure of and they used Manning's ball so I couldn't tell. Phil's chip shot on the front, talking about he is going to hit it into the hill to slide it and take some off, while I'm telling my wife I would hit it high and try to land it soft. He executes and my wife says, his way was better. I dead panned, he is Phil Mickleson...

I wish there were more of these, I did buy some tickets for the putting lesson.

For all the greatness of Tiger he’s like a fish out of water when it comes to stuff like this. Tiger has always just wanted to beat his opponents asses. Behind the scenes he’s supposed to have a great personality. However when the camera is on, old game face is back. Could replace tiger quite easily and the game would have probably been better, same with Brady.

Agree. If they do this again they need Tiger and Phil. The celebrities can change but not those two. I would think Michael Jordan would be ideal as one of the non-pros. Not sure who would make the greatest impact for the other.

It felt like Tiger was trying 10 percent, and was still clearly the best player.

It's like he didn't want to put much effort in, knowing it wasn't an official tournament, and he was playing against 2 non-pros... but then again he was playing against 1 pro, and he still made it seem like it was super easy out there for him... like a walk in the park. Scary.

Agree but TW needs a supporting cast or he’s totally boring. It was Phil and Peyton with the funny commentary that made this enjoyable.

 

And I’ll hand it to Brady, good sport and between splitting his pants, holing out that shot, and “take a suck of that, Chuck”, he was the star of the thing, lol.

Yep, kinda crazy. Made me think, pressure probably even gets to Tiger at times, and he's the best there's ever been. Going forward, If he plays off the tee as well as he did Sunday, I believe we're in for some more highlights

Is it possible to do this as a pay-per-view (or has tht ship sailed) to "loosen-up" the banter a touch?

 

I'm no prude and really got to thinking this is not how my foursome talks. Nor any other all male foursome I have been a part of once a little swing oil is in the mix and we get to know each other a bit. I guess what I am saying would we be interested and could the general viewing public accept, more than the "good-natured ribbing" that is sure to really take place.?

As a Cowboys fan, I'll keep my opinions to myself in relation that that effrontery. That said... they're both very high level, recognizable faces that play a mean game of golf. Tiger and Tony vs. Steph and Phil: I would definitely watch that match.

Match #1 was supposed to be PPV and most people here hated that idea. Criticized it to death. You can find that old thread if you want.

I think a fair amount of people still bought it (was around $20 I think) but there was some kind of malfunction with the platform so they ended up refunding everyone and everyone watched it for free.

Non-ppv seems to work better. I don't think this is a compelling enough event to warrant PPV. I bought it the first time but I am in a niche of people that really loves to watch pro golf and especially TW.
