You know its funny, I was going to say the same thing except I was thinking someone said it here. It has to be the Ventus lineup review video. Matt was hitting it pretty well, just a hair loose. Tipping it 2 inches looks like it could bring the tip near the stiffness of the blue/black. The Korn Ferry tour photos a while back featured several pros utilizing it in their drivers. This thread has me looking at the Ventus shafts again. I love my Rogue White, but I really want to hit the whole lineup.

Stock length is 43.75 and the O.O. has a pretty heavy head (208-209g) so this would normally be a very heavy setup, but I can see how it would work really well at 43 inches, both in terms of weight and control. 

 

Just curious, did you switch already to the UST shaft, or have you just not updated your signature yet?

what is the length of the original one? 42 inches? 

 

I have the Ventus Red 7 (71g) Velocore "S" in a TS2 16.5, tipped 1/2" playing length 42.75" and get it out there with many 3wds even some drivers.  I like a bit higher trajectory, and run-out over my 15' 3wd (which is collecting dust in the garage.)

the feel is great! I had a 80 gram UST v2 in it. This feel so much better. Plus it is very point and shoot.

I was thinking of putting a UST V2 in my OO.  How did the ball flight compare to the Red?  What about distance?  Thanks.

Ball flight is slightly higher with the red but I am keeping the spin down and getting more distance. Plus it hit it very straight.

Reminds me when Cleveland had a van running around the country building clubs onsite for accounts (18 yrs ago) and they stumbled upon shafting their ladies Launcher W-series head with a green nv65 x shaft

 

...selling them like crazy, until corporate told them to stop because they knew the 13(?) deg head was hot.

Love the custom job with the Ventus Red!

 

I've got 3 rounds under my belt with the 11.5* Original One and it is a freaking missile launcher.  I always seem to get better performance from my fairway wood compared to driver so when I found this thing I had to give it a shot.  Everything has improved since it went in the bag - accuracy and (surprisingly) distance.  I've played with buddies who have custom fit SIM and M5 drivers and I'm hanging with them.  Average distance through 3 rounds is 270-275 yards and I'm hitting 65% or better FIR with the misses being very minimal.  This club feels a bit like cheating sometimes!

Love my OO re-shafted mine with an Aerotech Steelfiber hfs780 R flex.  Playing second shots from new place and not just in the fairway.  I’m hitting sand wedges in to green where I used to be hitting a 8i or 9i.  I’m hitting fairways over 70% of the time.

Stock total club length is 43.75 and the shaft is 42.50 from memory.👍

Gave it a go for a couple of rounds and found the flight a tad low and lost the consistency off the deck. Distance off the tee was the similar as 9.5° Driver.

 

Put it back to 11.5 and have been enjoying the benefits of keeping up or even surpassing big hitters and also being very consistent off the ground.

Been looking for an 11.5 to make up a short bag. But the 11.5 are rarer than hens teeth. 

I was in our local Golftown yesterday and noticed the OO stock rack.

4 11.5 and 6 13.5 in stock, all with Diamana 60 + limited DIALED shafts.
