I can imagine those not used to playing in close to freezing temps already wearing disposable hand warmers... would be interesting to see their outfits LOL

I played the course a few years back in mid-December. There was a 3 hour frost delay, and the temps never got higher than the upper 30's. Great course but not the best golfing weather. Hope they have better luck than I did.

I couldn't find enough Canadians, Finns or Icelanders (where have you gone Olafia Kristinsdottir) to select based on familiarity with near-Arctic conditions, so instead I'm going to pick Gaby Lopez out of nowhere.  Su Oh and Sarah Schmelzel to round out the top 3.

 

And will be unashamedly rooting for a triumphant return to competition for So Yeon Ryu.  It's OK if she waits a week to win though.

You were looking for a Scandinavian or someone else from a cold climate who could handle near-Arctic conditions and you ended up picking a Mexican who played college golf in Arkansas?

Well, that sure looked like fun. Lol. Hats off to the players grinding it out there. Brought back memories of my arctic round out there a few years back. Tough greens in good conditions, and almost brutal today. Hopefully the frost delay in the morning doesn't last too long. I'd hate to see the second round finish get pushed to Saturday. 

 

So nice to see So Yeon back playing. 

 

Way too early to call anything. Patience is going to be the key.

Nice to see my pick this week get off to a nice start and agree there's still plenty of tournament to go.  Nice for Charley get off to a nice start also.  Jennifer Kupcho had a nice bounce back, looks like she's getting ready to win by showing up in contention a more regularly.
