1) Are fans allowed at this tournament? I live in Dallas...not that I’d go in this frigid weather. 

 

2) Has Charley Hull ever won on the LET? I know she has never won on the LPGA. 
 

3) The Dallas tournaments—this one and the PGA’s Byron Nelson—have had the worst luck over the last five years, whether it be weather or golf course politics.

Charley has won twice on the LET, and once on the LPGA, the 2016 CME Championship.

Even with the late tee time today, there is NO reason the groups shouldn’t finish before dark. If they don’t it’s purely slow play. Five hours of daylight should be more than enough.

👍  And some of the best that I've found are the thin-weight merino wool from the outdoor  vendors.  That and a good pair of woollen socks (even if its a blend) ... they keep the chill out of your game!

don't worry, carlota isnt playing so most likely there's no slow play LOL... dk is slow too in a way, and she's not playing either 🙂  CKerr and Mirim withdrew bec of the weather????

My first thought with Christie and Mirim, is those are some wily vets. lol  Honestly I see no advantage playing in this, if anything this is the kinda weather that can throw a hitch in your mechanics going into next week.  The temp is suppose to 60-70 next week, you're not learning anything here. lol

I tedder back and forth with Brooke being slow but she's sneaky, she quick off the tee and on the greens but milks every second she has for her 2nd shot or 2nd and 3rd (in fairway) on Par 5's lol

Was chuckling away at the amount of clothing they had on. A decent wool thermal, fleece and wind breaker was more than enough.

true, plus kerr has amassed what? 20MM in career earnings?  she did +1 on round 1, not a bad score, but still not worth it for her... same with mirim... thanks for the insights... for brooke - i don't see brooke as "painstakingly" slow -- at least she still is cognizant that's she's a golfer -- others seem like they don't give a hoot whether it affects play or not...

kelly tan is doing well... those alberta/calgary days during covid is certainly paying off!  (Eg cold weather, similar atmosphere as texas in terms of midwest etc)...

@18majors should be pleased Yealimi had herself a round.  It's pretty tight at the top, it's gonna be fun trying to survive the weather on the weekend, if it stays bad.

Wow, what a difference a day makes. It may be chilly out there, but the sunshine and light winds are surely welcome. 

 

+7 cut line? The tour has certainly had its share of tough events this (weird) season. We've kvetched about birdie fests for years. Looks like we got our wish this year. Lol.

I like Kelly, Mina, Bianca, Hinako, Yuka, Yealimi in general, along with Andrea, Patty, Minjee, and a whole host of others - time permitting... so I track them as much as I can -- of course I can't track ALL of them so I just track my favorites list to the best of my abilities... I don't bother tracking the Koreans anymore (18majors is the expert there) ... Brooke / Jessica / Nelly / Lexi are easily tracked by others here too... so I go track the unknowns 🙂

Was tracking Bianca and Tiffany Joh... Bianca wouldve missed the cut if Tiffany kept her +7 with 4 holes to go... I thought +8 would make the cut BUT i wasn't sure...

I have yet to see much coverage of Yealimi playing.. Maybe this weekend, she might get lot of TV time..

Even if Yealimin does not win this weekend, she will be heading into Houston brimming with confidence and that cannot be a bad thing at all.  I think she could very well be one of the players to watch at Champions Golf Club.

It doesn’t help that it often looks like they dug out whatever they could find out of  knows where. Not that you have to color coordinate but it looks sometimes like you borrowed a volunteer’s jacket, your boyfriend’s beany, your caddie’s hat, and your ear muffs.

Perhaps the LPGA should have negotiated better television contacts to get on air sooner and not be bumped/moved around as much. As good as the LPGA product can be at times what does it say when a GC highlights show draws more viewers than a live or tape delayed LPGA event? Until the LPGA leaves GC for a better deal (very unlikely) or can find a way to seriously increase viewership they will always have the worst tv windows on GC when it comes to tournament golf.

Difficult weather whether extreme cold, extreme heat, rain, etc always slows down play.

For the second time this year, Yealimi Noh (5'9") will be the shortest player in her pairing with Jessica Korda (5'11") and Anna Nordqvist (6'1").

The other time she paired with Jessica Korda and Lexi Thompson.

Why anyone was driving in the dark is beyond me. It appears the driving range opens at 5:30 am but to drive in the dark unless you have headlights is dangerous.  This course has dirt and gravel paths for the most part and large areas of long grasses and fescue.

Gonna be a shootout tomorrow, who has the low round in them.  All the way down to -1, if you can find a 65 that might get it done.

Ouch. That double on the 18th was costly for Yealimi. 'Hope it's not too costly. 

 

In the top 10 you've got the rookie vs seasoned players with 12 combined majors, and three other major winners within three shots just outside the top 10. Pressure? We'll find out. Should be a fun finish. 

 

There are a number of players that are going to be pleased with their play this week going into the USWO even if they don't hoist the trophy. 

 

The course definitely has teeth. Two putts are not a given. I was quite surprised by Inbee's three putt on the 17th. 

 

Forgot to mention this on Thursday. It's nice to have Judy back.

I might be a little scared of  Nasa tomorrow, she hasn't had a really good round this week so far and she's usually has 1 good low one every week.

Will be rooting for Seo Yeon, but it would be great for the tour for Yealimi to win - just watching yesterday's coverage now and she's quite poised in her feature interview.   Another candidate for global superstardom if she can start racking up some Ws.

 

Should be a great final round!
