There's so many great logos. My home course logo is the Mannville Riverview GC. I've been fortunate enough to have played innumerable  golf courses around the world and my vast scorecard collection reflects that. Some memorable logos include: Golf de Etretat, Monte-Carlo GC, Ardglass GC, Ballybunion GC, Old Head Golf Links, Denarau Golf & Racquet Club, Dubai Creek Yacht & Golf Club, Valderama GC, Tower Links GC, Nuwara Eliya GC. So many more I could list.

There is absolutely no debate that the best logos have not a single letter or word associated with them. "If you know, you know" ...

 

Of the one's already mentioned, Merion & Sleepy Hollow are the best (also, in case you didn't notice, classic courses and widely noted as significant in the architectural world of golf ... and rated high, if that matters to you) - Muirfield is the one that does have name attached to it, but they have a section of the pro shop with only the logo, only members can purchase this stuff.

 

One not mentioned that I've always liked is Stanwich CC: The witch!

Cartoon type drawings with no text are tops with me.  Winged Foot fits that bill, Sleepy Hollow, NGLA, etc. 

 

Sometimes, when really well done, just the abbreviation in a tasteful font get the job done.  Sewanee, Sweeten's Cove and Tacoma Country and Golf Club come to mind.

 

Pebble Beach is a nice logo.

 

"Computer generated stuff" doesn't rank highly with me.  I do not like Valhalla's at all.  I would go a step even further and say the name doesn't fit the course nor the location.  There is nothing nordic or norse about Louisville, KY.  A missed opportunity on several fronts.

Incorrect. It is the members' logo for Royal Worlington and Newmarket in England. They have a more regal looking logo with a coat of arms etc to sell to status seeking visitors but this is the one the locals use.

For me it’s either Pasatiempo or Whistling Straits. Prefer the course at Pasatiempo though.
