New TP5 and TP5X for 2021

Just bought 2 doz of the tp5Pix. I’ll give them a go and see if they’re worth the switch.  Haven’t tried new Pro V1s yet.

Been very happy with the yellow TP5 other than the durability which is pretty weak to be honest. I really love the color, so much so that I changed the paint fill on my putter to match it.  If the new ones aren't the same color I guess I'll be loading up on the old ones!

I need to see their yellow.  Looked for them today but only PIX were in stock.  I love the Snell and Titleist yellows.  I will take a look at these next.  Love yellow golf balls.

just pre-ordered a dozen of both models to compare.

^^^^^My plan too.

Agree on the shade of Yellow on the outgoing model too - as above. Very user friendly / highly visible !

**Some makers shades of optic / hi-vis Yellow make it more difficult to see the dimples at address imo. I tried a ‘Matt’ Yellow something or other - and in lower light levels couldn’t make out the dimples at all. Really screwed with my head after 35 years of clearly seeing dimples !

Never had that problem last year with the now ‘old’ TP5 / X models......

Current TP5 yellow almost has a hint of green, very highlighter like, neon chartreuse is probably the best description. I love them, easiest to spot by far, for me at least.

Always been a ProV1 and Snell fan.   Never can get in to Bridgestone.  Used to love Z stars and can’t get in to them now either.  Maybe the new TP5 yellow and Pix can keep me hooked.

I love the distance of the TP5x with the driver, but wish that it had a little more short game spin and was a tad softer. Basically if last year's prov1x and tp5x had a baby. Sounds from the literature like the 2021 TP5x may be that ball.

Titleist's marketing copy had been annoying. All I can find is comparisons of the ProV1 to the ProV1x, but what I'd really like to see is a comparison of the new ProV1x to the previous ProV1x.

Have you tried the Bridgestone Tour B X? I found it performs just like the TP5X in the long game, but is a little softer and has much more spin inside 100yds and around the green

Agree. I played the tp5 before. Tried the BX last year and loved it. Gave me everything around the green with better long game.

Taylormade looks to have solidified themselves as legit threat to Titleist's throne. Yes, yes, I know other balls are great, too. Taylormade seems to have improved significantly on an already excellent ball more so than other companies.

Sounds great. I can take advantage of better pricing to 2019 TP5 as their appears to be little change.

TXG’s review:

In the video, 2-ball packs of 2021 TP5 and TP5x are shown. A year ago, a poster here provided us with a link where 2-ball packs of the B RX and XS balls could be had for a small price. I am very interested in getting my hands on such a pack of the 2021 TP5. Does anyone have a "secret source" where I can buy these? I promise not to tell anyone else.... 😉

TL;DW: new X is softer and spins a little more

Saw their review and it was good. Take away for me was new TP5 performed about the same as the 2019 model. The new TP5x was softer with more soon than the 2019 version. But this was inside on a launch monitor. Ian commented that the dimples on the new model were very different and that better aerodynamics might be TM’s goal. So we will have to see how the new balls perform outdoors.

While feeling a little softer and spinning a little more on the wedges is great and all, I hope the new dimple pattern doesn't mess with the trajectory or stability in the wind. I was thinking about that watching the TXG video.... all they can see is launch conditions, but they cannot emulate real ball flight/trajectory.

I'm all over the new TP5X though.... I'm almost out of my 2019 gamers.... I'll stock up soon on the new ones.

maybe for the X players.....the TP5 is the same exact ball basically.....i think TM wil lose some of the pro market share back to Titleist's prov1 which is a whole new ball.

Thanks for the quick response. I'm unable to find either a 2- or 3-pack of 2021 TP5s at that site. Can you help direct me to these? Thanks.

Maybe they aren’t on there yet since they are still showing “preorder.” I’d be really curious too since I will be doing the same.
