I bought one of these (lefty 10.5) with the hope that it is low enough launch & spin to give a shot.  Haven't been able to extensively test. Have any others been able to compare launch spin to other lower lofted gamers?

I'm in the same boat (lefty)....

Too much snow on the ground I haven't been able to swing it

Then something popped and there was a rattle in the head......dud city after that.

Shot an email over to TE, hopefully they have a spare lefty they can replace it with....

Bummer, what a tease!  I’m sure they will make things right.  It really is a good driver.  Still loving mine after a month or so in the bag.

I heard they are coming out with a new C723 line in January.  The C722 drivers are discounted and will likely drop even more when this happens.  I have the C722, which is a step up in both looks and performance over the C721.  Tour Edge makes great drivers, woods and hybrids.  Should get more love than they do.

I'm pretty sure the 4t only comes in regular and stiff.  A friend has one in regular and it is a stable shaft.  If I understand correctly it's the same as a velo core excpet the 4 ton material is used instead of some other material in a small part of the layup.

I just pulled the trigger on a 12* with the HZRDUS blue RDX 60 5.5 from Rock Bottom Golf.  We'll see how it compares to my g425 max with Tensei Orange 55 regular.  Unfortunately it will only be on simulators until April.

Of course... today RBG sends out 23% off using code "2023" so a c721 driver in excellent condition is only $104.

I was able to hit the C721 this evening - I'll echo all of the low spin comments.  I estimate that it was a couple of mph behind my Callaway Subzero heads in ballspeed but it definitely produced low spin tee shots.  What was most surprising to me about this head, similar to the LTDX LS but unlike the Callaway Subzero heads, was how low spin heel and thin strikes remained!

My swing tendencies: I'm naturally a lower launch player as I tend to maintain some lag.  When I'm swinging with a neutral attack angle I'm usually missing a bit left (lefty) as I'm not in-to-out enough and the face stays open to the path.  My best swings are 3-4* in-to-out and 3-4* up.

Welcome to the club.  TEE continues to fly under the radar.  I have the C722 and hands down been the straightest driver I have gamed.

Played the C721 for first time today with HZRDUS RDX Black 6.5 70g. Hit it really straight over and over on the range, hit 2 ones that felt great and one ended up shorter than usual and other one was about where I normally am. I think I’ll probably stick with my TM Stealth+ with Ventus Black 6x.  I did really like the feel of the TEE and may give it another shot.

My c721 driver showed up today in excellent condition from Rock Bottom Golf. The face looked brand new with just a few brush marks on the sole. I immediately took it to the indoor golf simulator and played 18+ holes trading off between it and the G425.

The c721 has the hzrdus blue RDX 60 5.5, the Ping has the Tensei raw AV orange 50 in regular. Both shafts are counterbalanced, both play 45.5”, same flex, and are 8 grams different in uncut weight (58 vs 66).

The TE was mixed- I had to turn the loft up to 12* to get a decent flight, with the Ping at 11*. The TE wanted to start out right until I set it in the O+ setting (upright), then it straightened out. Some hits felt good but only carried 210 yards, others felt good and carried 255. The longest I hit the Ping was 245 total distance, but the shortest was 230. The TE was 220 to 275.

I would not have been able to distinguish between the two based on swing weight. The TE didn’t have the aluminum can sound, which is a plus, but I would give the G425 a slight edge in forgiveness.

At this point I could go either way and be happy. However, I’d really like a few more rounds to compare and see them out in the wild, but our courses don’t open again until April, so a decision won’t be made anytime soon.

How did the side to side dispersion compare?

I didn’t keep track of fairways hit, but poor swings with the Ping kept it closer online. My general miss is high on the toe. The g425 Max keeps those reasonably close to the fairway, the TE went farther right, but some were deep bombs (for me). About the 16th hole I set it in the O+ position, 3 degrees more upright, which raised the toe side noticeably. After that I hit the last four fairways with the TE with good distance.

Interested in your comparison. I have a chance to pick up a decent Stealth plus and my current gamer is a C721. I've tried everything to knock it out and thought maybe the Stealth plus might do it ?

Here is a look at dispersion today in 30 degree snow conditions hitting from a bay into a range. With a few different settings changed up. I don’t think I put one out of play . Impressive and feel is very powerful. Launch can be an issue with these but I think that can be figured out to optimize. Rusty winter swings producing this consistency is great

Well, Im selling mine.

I do really like the club, I can see why I did so well in the TXG bracket......

But as a lefty, not being able to get the 9* head.....the 10.5 is a bit too high for me..

  • 3 months later...

Thanks to a record-setting Wyoming winter that finally ended Thursday, I played my first round of the year today.  I had the TE C721 and the Ping g425 in my bag, but the Ping never made an appearance.  I hit 12 out of 13 fairways with the C721, and the only one I missed was a hard closed, line drive over 3rd base into the environmental hazard- not the driver's fault. (it was the ball...)  Everything else just went straight.  Stupid straight.  As I said, I never checked distance against the g425, but it wasn't short.  Hard to gauge distance because we started out playing white tees and moved to the golds part way through because every par 4 was driver, 85 yard wedge.  I hit the majority of shots out on the toe and they either went dead straight or had a slight draw back to the middle.  Maybe the Ping is as long or longer, but the C721 with HZRDUS Blue RDX 60 5.5 was working today.  Another round like this and the Ping will be on the BST.  My playing partners were all spraying it around in all the wrong places (their first rounds of the year too), and they were getting mighty tired of me standing in the middle of the fairway on each hole.

I bought the C721 right after it hit the market. After a period of playing with the adjustments and getting it dialed in it has become my most accurate driver to date for me. I usually have 12 of 14 drives straight down the middle and the other 2 drives right off the fairway in the right rough. I'm not going to say it is the longest driver but it is the most consistent.

My last two rounds I played one of my back up bags for fun. I played my Cobra F9 driver. I hit 10 fairways and 8 fairways. Only a few of those drives were right in the middle of the fairway. I can see a difference between the two.

I played 9 more holes with it yesterday, and I don't see it leaving my bag.  I didn't have any range warmup, so the first couple of holes were not accurate, but it wasn't the clubs fault.  I ended up hitting 3 of the last 4 fairways, and the one I missed was pretty far out on the toe.  It still went 20 yards longer than I expected and was barely in the rough.  This thing is legit and every bit as long if not longer than the g425 Max.

The Ping is another step closer to the BST...
