I think I'll try these, but still a little confused by the ordering.  If I understand right, the two choices for shipping to the US are to order straight from https://www.allfitgolf.com or to order from https://billybobsgolf.com/.

The disadvantage for ordering direct from AllFit is that they ship Fedex from China and charge a considerable amount.  Is it $25 for a small order?  Any other downsides?

The main downside to Billy Bob's seems to be a more limited selection.  And I can't tell: does Billy Bob's sell the current Gen4 adapters or something earlier?   Does it matter?

Last question is which adapter works for the Ping G430.  Part of my reason for getting one of these was to test some different UTry heads from Global Golf on a single shaft.  Can someone confirm that the adapter for the G425 also works for the G430 series?

You use the same adapter across the board.  It's the collars that are different.

As for the G425 fitting the G430...  If Ping didn't change the adapter, the collar is the same.  I believe it's the G400 to G410 where the change happened; disclaimer being I'm not a Ping user, hope others will correct if I'm incorrect.

Can't speak to Gen4 vs previous, I'll let others chime in.  I'll only say I've had zero issue

If you truly are a WRX enthusiast major tinkerer, then approaching Top Golf and buying off their catalog is the best option.

Thanks for the details.  My order will probably be small, but for others, how would one go about contacting Top Golf (the Chinese manufacturer of the adapter)?  I searched but failed to find a website.

I tried asking Billy Bob's by email whether they were selling the Gen3 or the Gen4, and while I got a wonderfully quick response, I don't think they actually understood my question.   Maybe I wasn't clear enough.  But I take it your conclusion is that difference isn't that important anyway because the older ones work fine?

If anyone has ordered recently from Billy Bob's, I would still be interested to know which one they are sending out.

I hesitate to make an overall conclusion, because my usage has been fairly small, 3-5 adapters.  But, with no trouble.  And, all older, from a year or more ago.

This is what Gen4 looks like:

AllFit_Gen4.jpg.6047a9fbfd0ffe95d595ea4ce064cfc7.jpg

Note the "IV" inside the circle. The Gen3 will show a "III"

Minor change only between Gen3 and Gen4 basically to utilize a single screw versus the multiple different screws in Gen3. I have been using Gen3 for more than a year now (whenever this thread started) with almost zero issues. However, I have no experience with Gen4 as I still have some leftover adapters I need to use first.

I just got my small order from Billy Bob's, and to answer my own question, they are currently sending out Gen 4 adapters marked with "IV".  Smooth transaction, fast and reasonable shipping ($5.75 for USPS), and they sent what I ordered.

My only complaint (if it is one) is that they don't send a screw with every collar.  They do with the ones that are "nonstandard", but it means I have to share the single "B" screw that came with the sleeve between the Calloway and Titleist.   Not really a problem, but I'm sure I'll manage to  confuse myself at some point.  Would be easier if I could just store a screw with each collar.

Just ordered 6 adapters and a bunch of collars from Billy Bobs. A couple questions if anyone is able to answer:

-I don’t have any club building experience and was planning to bring the adapters with a few shafts to my local Golf Galaxy. Is this a pretty straight forward installation?  Any special instructions I should give them?

-I have a bunch of diver heads that already have the screws with them. Any issue using the screws that are with the heads with the All Fit adapter?

Any other advice you have before I have GG remove old adapters and put in the All Fit would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Straight forward BUT do spend some time and talk with and find the most experienced guy in the shop. Check they have a graphite shaft puller. Remember, that's a $350 Ventus Velocore and you don't want anyone without experience touching that Velocore tip. We are not talking changing grips here...

Personally, I have had work BOTCHED even with an "experienced" pro shop guy before so I do not trust anyone to touch my shafts or do any work. Perhaps it may be a good time to start considering educating yourself on how to do your own club work if you are going to tinker. It's not that hard, just got to invest in some tools like a simple torch and puller, epoxy etc.

If you have a TM driver head, that screw is good to go. However, if you have a Cobra, Callaway or any other head you need to remove the OEM screw and replace it with the All-Fit recommended screw. Do some research and check out my post and others to see what All-Fit screw goes with what head.

If you do not know how to remove a screw from the head or how to reinstall a screw into a head, the info is also there in this thread. Or you can YouTube "GolfWRX Club Conex" as @knudson81 has a great video on how to do this.

Well, just further shows us how stupid the folks at Club-Conex are. We didn't want to spend 2 grand and 100 bucks per month to use your crap. You could have made a lot of money marketing to hobbyists, but instead are bending small business over your knee to make a buck. If you have to force folks into a subscription, maybe your product isn't worth anything.

Are there any alternatives to Club Conex?

It's interesting they did not mention All-Fit Masters. These were suppose to be the 2nd evolution of All Fit adapters where the hybrid design of the OEM meets the plug-n-screw of the adapter. However, Top Golf was still developing it and eventhough you can buy it, it lacked some fundamentals like the TM version was NOT adjustable for loft...well, that was my last understanding of this when I communicated with Top Golf

We may still have hope

As an aside, anyone have a chart that shows the final length of club for each adapter? For example, when I build with Taylormade and adapter at 45”, and the use the same shaft in ping g400, the club plays about 1/4” or slight more longer. If would be nice to have a list unless the differences are all minimum and not an issue? Maybe someone who has a lot of adapters like @knudson81 or @SwingBlues or @osubuckeyes691 might chime in. Maybe a sticky if the info is useful? One reason is that if someone builds with one club, and then tries in another head they have it might play shorter than expected.

Ideally this would be useful information as a sticky, but because a standard for measuring playing length doesn't exist the data in the chart wouldn't be overly accurate. I measure everything with a Mitchell Clublength ruler and playing length for me is to the end of the grip cap. I settled on a cut shaft length of 42-15/16" to end up with a 45" driver with most heads. The important measurement that makes the final playing length differ is the bottom bore to ground measurement (BBGM) of the club head with the All-Fit adapter, but again this can vary depending on what method you use to measure playing length. For example, I measured the BBGM of my Titleist TSi9 with the All-Fit universal adapter to be 1-7/8". This plus the shaft length + 3/16" for the grip cap = 45".

To answer your question simply... with the All-Fit universal adapters the playing length for every driver, fairway wood and hybrid I have is within 5/16" of each other. Not enough to worry about in my opinion.

PS: To measure the BBGM, make a mark on a shaft without an adapter at say 20" from the tip. Dry fit the shaft into the All-Fit (or any other) adapter, screw the adapter onto the head, put the club in your measuring device, and then note where your mark is now. The difference between that and 20" is the BBGM for that head.

PPS: The Club Conex "membership program" can kiss my ...

As @Golf Pig said I don't think that there is a big difference between the drivers, at least that I have noticed. I will measure up some heads next week and see if I can put some info out there for the current users.

That would be helpful...since I noticed it with ping, didn't know if it would be more of an issue with other clubs. figured it would be designed with collar lengths to compensate for the variations in shaft insertions/BBGM measurements but wasn't sure...

A colleague of mine tells me the All-fit masters are still infringing upon some sort of patent. He's looking into the ITC decision and getting the advice of a few lawyers because all the patents that are listed and the wording of the letter don't really jive or make sense for the master system.  Clubconex has not gotten back to him either regarding "membership" as they're doing a "case by case" basis. For right now as I understand it, nobody who bought adapters from All-fit can use them without being a "member" and Clubconex has threatened litigation against him if he continues.  He said "They give less than a s*** and told me directly my options are Pay the fee, convert the entire system to Clubconex - which apparently does NOT need to pay the membership fee, Close shop, or face litigation".

The weirdest thing is that All-fit contacted him and said he can still buy directly from them instead of ClubConex, so it's a whole thing.

Tried to order from Allfit directly in China as I have done in the past and they are no longer selling the all fit system and directed me to clubconex. Such nonsense, club conex an inferior system has now eliminted options for us club hobbyists again...just ordered another batch to keep on hand from billy bobs as they have them 'while supplies last". Just FYI.

My Allfit adapter failed today in normal use!  I was trying a Titleist TSR3 head that I was trialing from GlobalGolf.  I'd put it on the day before, tightened it to "two clicks" with the Universal Torque Wrench sold by BillyBobs, and hit some practice balls, but this was the first day with it on the course.  I hit a ball that flew well, but noticed that head was very loose afterward so I immediately stopped using it.   Upon taking it apart when I got home, I realized that the threads had been stripped out from adapter:

StrippedAllfit.jpg.59db7f7c6647077efddc32f9114ddf47.jpg

I was using the B screw, which I'm pretty sure is considered correct for all Titleist heads.   About 5 circles of thread came out, and there looks to be another full circle of thread left in the adapter, but the base problem would seem to be that the screw doesn't penetrate deep enough into the head.  I think this happened in a single hit rather than a gradual loosening, but I guess I can't be certain.  I've written to BillyBobs asking if they will send me a replacement or refund.

I never heard back from Billy Bob's about my stripped Allfit adapter.  I'm guessing they've had enough with these and are just trying to sell out what they have without getting sued.  Rather than trying to force the issue I decided to see if I could repair the adapter with a "Helicoil" type insert.

The idea of these is the you drill out the stripped threads, tap new larger threads into this hole, screw a hard steel helical insert into the new threads, and then screw the original bolt inside the insert.  Since the insert is made of a tougher metal and the threads in the original are a larger diameter, you hopefully end up with a stronger connection.

The Allfit uses M4-.7mm screws.  I bought this kit off Amazon for about $13.  In addition, you'll need a drill and a tap wrench, although you can probably substitute a Vicegrips for a tap wrench if  you don't have one.  This kit included a variety of insert lengths, measured in "D", where D is the 4mm diameter of the screw.  I ended up using the 2D (8mm) length, although the 2.5D might have fit if I'd have drilled and tapped a little deeper.

It's a fairly easy 20 minute procedure if you can read directions and have some metal working experience:  a bit faster if you are better, considerably slower if this is the first time you've tapped anything.   I don't know how it will hold up over time, but it worked fine for the 50 or so test balls I hit.  If these adapters do end up going off the market, this might be a useful trick for people who have stripped the threads and can't find a replacement.
