83…..sorta. Not really a legitimate score. Greens were effectively unputtable, so slow, sandy, soft, recently aerated. So anything over  about 8’ I just took two putts.

Very pleased with the rest though. Played well, hit 3 par 3s in reg and drove it well.

Just got back from my trip to FLA and after playing horrible on the front 9, I shot a 37(+1) on the back 9. Which was probably the lowest Ive scored on 9 holes in a decade lol Missed the final putt by 1 inch for Birdie to get to E par for the 9.

I realized that on many nicer courses down South, the lies are so tight which made it a nightmare for me to use wedges from 100 yards and in. After the front 9, I thought to take my PW out on anything within 100 yards and hit a little half swing/pitch type shot to just roll the ball up on the green. Almost like a 50-70 yard long bump and run---that saved my life. I was in a groove of hitting fairways, putting the ball on with my second little pitch shot and 1-2 putting everything.

Plus it is so much easier to putt on those greens. I dont know if its because they are nicer or the type of grass--but its amazing how easy it is to putt when the ball actually rolls true to what you read. Not like Ohio where there is a clear 2" break but the ball barely moves when you hit it.

Played a last minute 9 after work yesterday and missed an 8 foot par putt on the last hole that would have been my first time breaking 40 on any 9 (still the best 9 holes of my life)

Shot a 79 today after a 5 month weather lay off. Looked at some footage of Bobby Jones swing and saw a vid on the right hand grip from Elkington. Moved my grip closer to the tips of fingers. Not saying my swing is as graceful as Jones but it put tempo into my head.

41-49, 90. Not a terrible front, but then realized my putter head was loose on 10 after missing a tap in par on 9. Tried to use it for a hole or two more but had to finish with a wedge. Three 3-putts and three 1-putts with the wedge so call it a wash, but it definitely cost me a few strokes. Just going to focus on how the driving was better and the chipping was great. Greens also still very sandy and pretty muddy on the course. Come on spring, please.

48 for my first 9 hole round of the year and only one mulligan. I'm quite happy with it, especially since it was a new course for me, the greens were slow and I foolishly didn't do anything on the practice green.

I felt my driving was very good, especially when I swung within myself. The irons were iffy but that's all the time. Short game needs some work too, but I had a few good chips.

43-43 from 6400 yards. Missed two easy putts. Drove it great. Approach game was trash so one of those days I’m known for, found a way to make a decent score when everything not off the tee was thin. I’m pleased with the result.

Got a half round in this afternoon before I had to be in a meeting. Shot a 53 on the front of the new home course (37 par) - plays 71.1/133 off the whites - not bad for a first rusty time out with no range time. Best moment was a par 4 on stroke hole 1, after an errant tee shot forced me to chip back to the fairway, before a perfect 50* to 15 feet, and holed the putt. Worst moment was a couple of poor tee shots and a 3 putt resulting in a couple of naughty trebles. Once I eased into the round a little was playing more consistent bogey golf, and was on fire with the wedges, so hopeful signs there. Course doesn't come back to the clubhouse on 9, so ended up playing 17/18 on the way in - two bogeys was very acceptable.

Took off work to play yesterday and i might as well have went to work.  I couldnt get off the tee, my irons were all over the place, and wedges were about average to below average.  I did make a few putts, but overall putting wasnt good either.  Not a good day

Mixed messages today - had the course to myself. Conditions were tough, cold, intermittent raining, but walked away with a 97. Off the tee was pretty sharp, had a little bad luck on the back (two cart path bounces that took decent tee shots into shocking territory), but coming together. 38 putts reflected some rust despite GIR, and a few silly short ones, interspersed with draining longer putts 🤷‍♂️. Most of the mistakes came in the shorter game, so need to get back to practicing there.

43 with absolutely butchering the 2nd and last hole. The last hole was absolutely terrible and lead to a triple.

Overall with all the rust and  no off-season practice I'm very satisfied with how I've played this year so far. I've even started trying to do a little bit of shot shaping to decent success. First hole I hook a drive left, I have an opening between some trees but I still need to put a fade on it to hit the green. I weaken my grip slightly, slightly open my stance, and swing. I actually caught it a little thin, but the ball starts on my intended line, and starts to fade. I was hoping for more center of the green but it turns into a hole hunter and I'm left with a very makeable birdie putt of probably less than 10 feet.

82 on the course that I never play well and it was my second round this year. I practice weekly during the winter time and it pays off. I know what I have to work on now. Hope I’m motivated, practice and workout a lot this year.

Went out today in beautiful weather and shot a rough 47. 47 isn't a terrible score for me, its not great, but it just felt rougher than the final scorecard indicated.

I hit more fairways and greens today than I've hit in a while. Player Haron Lakes Greenback 9 and hit some of my best drives ever. Right side of the fairway 140 yards out. Up over the bunker to 3 feet for birdie, glorious.
