Golf Shirts That Stay Tucked In

Anyone know of any brands that stay tucked in for a round of golf? I have a few Travis Mathew shirts that are great for non-golf wear but even the XL is short (I'm 6'5"). The only shirts that have worked so far are the PGA Tour brand of shirts but the styles are so so. Any suggestions would be great.

Might also look into shorts and slacks that have the silicone band or beading in the waist band.  They grip your shirt and help keep it tucked.  I have a pair of vineyard vines and another pair or two with that silicone bit but I forget the brands.

Might want to look into some XLT options but the poster above also makes a good point.

I'm only 6'2'', so take this with a pinch of salt...

 

The Puma Evoknit polos the the best at staying tucked in for me. I wear a size Large and they stay put. Adidas and Nike, in the same size, come untucked. Unfortunately the Evoknit line of apparel is on it's way out, so I am buying previous year versions from Amazon.

 

Also, check out the Under Armour polos. They specifically offer a "tall" fit in various styles. I do not own any UA polos so can't comment further.

Very good point but (for me) the short shirt is going to end up untucked regardless. I like to pull the short out a bit after its been tucked.

all kidding aside - the underarmour golf pants/shorts that have those gripper type material on the inside of the waistband have always worked well for me.

Definitely need to get a tall shirt which sucks because you're now in a completely different price range for a few extra inches of fabric. 

 

I'm 6'3" and a lot of shirts for me are crop tops, I couldn't imagine golfing in them.

Try suspenders. Just buckle them tight. Should solve your problem.

second best is a Straight Down model with a point collar.

both came out of pro shop sales.

excellent tailoring and fabric on both.

FWIW, I'm 6' with a long torso, and a 30' inseam, so any skimpy length shirts don't work for me either. they have to get at least three inches past the belt loops.

if you like cotton, try LL Bean's pima cotton polos in tall.

my brother was 6'4" and he had issues locating attire - so I have empathy for your situation.

I’m 6’3”. Callaway Dryfit and Adidas shirts are longer than others and have nice designs. 
Alberto pants and shorts have the rubber/silicone band which does most of the work. 
 

If you feel especially crazy, don’t tuck in your shirt.

I, too an like you...6’3” and 29” inseam...I have found my local Tommy Bahama outlet. XL gives me plenty of length...however I prefer to wear a “golf” material shirt and not cotton. On a cool day the TB shirts work like a charm...a little sticky for me when I am sweating...

If you don't want to go for Tall, give FootJoy a try.  They are longer than most and have a lot of stretch.

Not tall (5’9”), but FJs have to be one of the longest shirts I’ve seen. 
 

Recommend trying in as sizing runs big.

Seconded. I’m 6’5 and this was my go to brand for ages. 
 

I’d also add Peter Millar to the mix. And 100000% if you don’t have shorts or pants with the rubber in the waist, this makes a massive difference.

I'm also 6' 5" and have the same issue with finding shirts. To make it even worse I'm built thin (185lbs, 31" waist) so anything long enough usually looks like I'm drowning. I may try Holderness & Bourne or Greyson. Peter Millar are long enough for me to tuck in but they're a little loose for me. Travis Mathew I can't' even tuck in so I don't wear them on the course often. I'll be watching this thread for other recommendations.

Rhoback is nice and long, I'm 6'2 with a tall torso and they stay perfect in my footjoy shorts with the grippy waist.

Peter Millar is pretty long. All you need to stay tucked in is length. But if it's long and you try to wear it untucked it looks like a moo-moo

Going to add Bonobos to this list, super long can tuck it in, pull a bit of it out so it's more comfortable and the gut isn't as noticeable. Double win there.

This is the way.

It's not about the shirt as long as you find one long enough, it's about the pants/ shirts. Find one with the silicone stuff and the shirt will generally stay put.

I have some Holderness and Bourne polos that are pretty long.

I’m only 6’ but I have a tall torso. I find that callaway Dry Fit shirts run longer than most and have been buying those. The ones that are 88 polyester and 12% spandex. I simply love them. If you go to TGW they have the lengths of all shirts so you can compare them there. This might help. For example, the callaway in M are 30.5” back length versus say Oakley which is 28.5” back length.

Another vote for Callaway -- I picked up a couple polos from callawayapparel.com and they are long.  The sizing is also rather generous, as is the sleeve length - kinda wish I'd ordered one down.  But I like them so far, nice light breathable fabric.
